I doubt WVU will be traveling to all the new teams. I would assume this change is for the Big 12 tournament. This will give the Big 12 automatic qualifiers again.

Many ACC coaches wanted to merge with the Big 12 schools for the tournament but it got shot down by the higher ups

I was told that the reason that the ACC and Big 12 did not get together was that the two conferences could not agree to which conference would fold into which conference.

That was part of it, and some administrators didn't like that they would be unlikely to win a conference championship

I suspect this will be better for the schools they are adding than for the current B12 wrestling schools. It should help them recruit. I wonder if they will wrestle dual meets or just participate in the xhampionship tourney. Missouri now wrestles in the MAC since the SEC doesn't have a wrestling program, but they don't wrestle all of the MAC schools which have wrestling programs -- just selected ones.
