the yinzers on this board always want this guy fired, or that guy tar and feathered, whatever. To the yinzer state of mind we should be up by 50 points by half time every game, and it's because (whoever, fill in the blank) is a bum that we're not. That is the yinzer way.
That's the narrative every week, win or lose, and has been in the past 54 years of Pitt football that I've been around. It's part of the Pittsburgh DNA, and always has been, which makes yinzers the whiniest fan base in sports.
The bottom line is today, Pitt got jobbed. There were several bad calls, of course, but the one that cost the game wasn't even close. CV didn't even hit the ground to start the slide until past the stick. However, the good ole boy official ("save your Confederate dollars because the South will rise again") decided to give 'his boys' another chance to win the game. This is not the first time this has happened down there on Tobacco Road, but it is the most blatant. When the ACC analysts call it out on national TV, it's obvious.
The solution is to get us out of the ACC, and start exploring other options. The ACC powers in Charlotte have their own pets that will get the benefit of the doubt, and none of the schools from north of the Mason Dixon line are ever going to get the benefit of the close ones, and this one wasn't even that close. It isn't Duzz, or the Junko kid, or any other of the yinzer designated villains. We are not Alabama or Ohio State which are willing to put the best team that money can buy on the field. The culprit is the conference and environment we play in, and it is time to change it. We've got a class program where the kids don't get hauled off to jail, a major metro area in the east, and a good TV draw. It's tine to look around because it isn't going to change on Tobacco Road.
