OT Monroeville Mall again...

Haven't been there in a while and not planning to be anywhere close to it
That place has turned into a War zone.
Use to be the top shopping center - what's going on there?

See, that's the irony.. it's just not true... It is normal there, about 99% of the time, and these flare ups hit.. and it's just baffling.... but probably not reversible.. it's become the "cool" place to cause trouble

Monroeville Mall (MM) is as safe as any other mall in the Pittsburgh area. The problem is, the media in the area chooses to not mention this fact in their stories. As an example, back in December of 2014, when MM experienced the "teenagers rioting" story, the same type of an event was flaring up the following night at Ross Park Mall. This story was really never addressed by the media. The events of last night were the culmination of some bad decisions made by several people who it would appear made some nice money off of the event. Those people include the event organizer (Avery Anderson), the fraternity that organized it (Phi Beta Sigma), the restaurant (Wingharts), it's owner (Prasad Bandhu) and it's manager for not having the proper number of security there for an event of this size.
To blame this event, that occurred hours after MM was closed for the evening is just foolish.

Ross Park incident was less than 10 and from the north side.

The restaurant will move and these thugs will move to and ruin another restaurant.

Security is not the problem, act like an adult not animals.

from what i saw on the news this party was supposed to be in white oak

at the last minute it got changed to wingharts at monroeville mall

monroeville pd and the mall administration had no idea of the change and so were completely unprepared for it

lot of fingers being pointed at wingharts for not telling anyone hundreds of college kids were going to be coming there

Pitt-Chains...I'm not trying to say that the number of people involved at Ross Park Mall was the same, I'm referring to the type of incident that occurred. Besides, what difference does it really make if there was 10, 50 or a 100...it would still be a dangerous situation for any one near the incident. Also, the Winghart's restaurant, had to decided that they were leaving MM before this incident.
Sadly, it does appear that this entire situation came down to how much MONEY could the event organizer make, the fraternity make and the restaurant make?

Agree, no number should matter, what matters is being responsible for your actions.
