Now has Pitt as "Should be In"
Pittsburgh (21-8, 14-4; NET: 53, SOS: 95): On Saturday, Pittsburgh’s incredible season continued, not only via its own impressive performance at Syracuse — where the Panthers ran Jim Boeheim’s truly terrible Orange off the floor, 99-82 — but later, when Virginia’s loss at North Carolina gave Pitt sole control of first place in the ACC standings. Big day. Unfortunately, UNC beating Virginia also dragged Virginia’s NET down far enough that it might not count as one of Pitt’s four Q1 wins for much longer. It’s unfortunate that in a season when Pitt has won 14 ACC games, just three of them have qualified as Quadrant 1, and just three more of the 14 came in Quadrant 2. The ACC struggle is real. Saturday brings a chance to add one last big win at Miami, but first Pitt will have to survive a trip to Notre Dame. We’ve moved the Panthers up into should be in, because we do think they’ll ultimately get in even with a pretty meager .500-ish record against the top two quadrants, but also because we’re tired of Pitt fans being mad at us every week. We’re showing love now, OK?! Are you guys happy? Good. Now please put down those pitchforks and return to your homes. Disperse.
