Wrestling .... ACCT at the Pete today*

Pitt advanced 4 wrestlers to the ACC Finals .......

149 - Racciato

174 - Wilps

184 - Thomusseit

285 - Solomon

Finals are at 7PM tonight at the Pete .......

Consolation semis at 3:30 PM

Consolation finals at 5:30 PM

Forys and Reaghard are going to the National Tournament from the consolation bracket!

They combine with our 4 finalists who already earned berth to St. Louis. There is a slim chance another Panther could get grabbed for an at-large later on.

Pitt currently in 2nd behind Virginia. Bit of surprise, but I can't imagine they'll take more than two finals. HWT is going to be tense, Solomon was *not* pleased with Gwiazdowski the last time they wrestled.

Re: Any chance of TV later on in the week?

Should be replay on espn3

Virginia is ahead of us 79.5 to 61, but if Mikey proves worthy of the 1 seed and wins 149 (he lost to Barber last year, beat him this year), I think we'll finish with more finalists than Virginia, making for a heck of a tabulation down the stretch.

I have no idea what the score would be if it shakes out like below:

125 - Tech
133 - UVA
141 - Tech
149 - Pitt
157 - Tech
165 - UVA
174 - Pitt
184 - Pitt
197 - Duke
HWT - NC State

But it will be high drama.

Forys, Garbinsky, Reaghard, Bonaccorsi all finished 3rd .....

not sure how many in each weight class go to nationals ????

Thomusseit leads 7-4 early 2nd period .... Thomusseit almost got ...

turned on his back at the end of the 1st period but the clock ran out .... whew !

Agree .... and Thomusseit great on takedowns.

Solomon a HUGE underdog in the 285 class .....

his opponent is the reigning national champion at 285 (Gwiazdowski of NCSU).

CONGRATULATION to TYLER WILPS !!!! ....

OUTSTANDING WRESTLER of the ACCT !
