This is the root of Pitt’s struggles

Give Kade Bell Pickett, Addison, Izzy, Mack, Wayne, Krull, Stovall, SJL and I promise you he could make this thing hum too.

Why did Whipple struggle so much at Pitt in 2019? Why did his offense suck at Nebraska?

The root of all of the struggles is talent.
I totally agree Whipple sucked for all but one year. And he was hoŕrendous at nebraska

The bloody weekend that was in the ACC

I know that the committee puts an extra emphasis on non-conference games. If you had to pick either SMU or LSU being good (and lets say we beat SMU), you are saying they'd be equally important wins. They would not be.

They don’t really value OOC wins more, though.

If 2 resumes are equal, they’ll give the nod to the team with a tougher SOS.

You’re overcomplicating this.

Going over 1000 scenarios in November is just silly.

Play good basketball - don’t lose games to bad teams. That’s the formula

Mac Brown Gone

It's kind of odd (in a way) that the ACC has become so weak among the P4 conferences in football and basketball, and is now the top conference in Olympic sports (volleyball, soccer)

Basketball this year for the ACC has taken a huge, backward step when you look at the conference's record against their non-conference opponents

As a side note, was the re-hiring of Brown at UNC somewhat similar to our re-hiring of Johnny Majors? Expecting better than what was delivered? (albeit, Brown II was much more successful than Majors II)
Brown was able to win recruiting battles in Texas. I think Brown version 2.0 was based on Brown getting the NC kids to go to UNC. The talent level in North Carolina improved quite a bit from Brown's first go around at NC to the second. But just like Texas, he didn't do enough with it.

Bracketology 11/26

I'm not talking about right now. Yea, if we go 0-2, we may still be in bracketology but I'm talking about at the end of the season. I am making some assumptions:

- LSU & WVU wont be good

- We will go 13-7 in the ACC

- We will go 0-3 vs Duke/UNC

None of that may happen. But it could and I think it will. This is why I say that if we go 0-2, we will not make the NCAA Tournament. If LSU or WVU is good or we go 14-6 or 15-5 or we beat Duke/UNC, then, yes, we can make it.

You are truly dumb.

Bracketology 11/26

If we go 2-1 and take care of VT on the road by a healthy margin we will be somewhere between 15-20 in the NET. That’s not even close to bubble. Probably like a 7-8 seed going into ACC play. Just go 11-9 or 12-8 we will be fine.

Pitt is going to be a computer darling this season.

Unc, Duke, Pitt, Clemson are getting in.

After that probably 2 of: Wake, Louisville, Stanford, ND, UVA, FSU.

I hadn’t counted on the ACC computer numbers being as good as they are.

Wisconsin Game & Other Dribbles...

That 1 bonehead play is close to the same level of bonehead as when Nasir Robinson fouling to lose the game in 2011 against Butler. You could also blame the loss on Brown missing 1 free throw to win the game.
I was at that game in DC about 4 rows up with Mrs. NC Panther - absolutely brutal.

There were like 3 words said on the drive back to NC that night and they all started with "F".
