Ranked teams who are overrated

I know this is going to be a very unpopular take on this board, but I think PSU is worthy of their #3 ranking at this point. Pribula is probably a better fit for their team than Allar, so I actually think they got better Saturday with Allar getting injured. I can't predict what will happen Saturday, but OSU looks down this year, so this could be Franklin's opportunity to get his team over the hump in the Big 10.
In the era of the 12 team playoff, it means less. Although, given that home field advantage is a pretty big deal in college football, I guess it comes into play.

I have to say, having more teams involved in the end definitely changes the way I view things.

I think that we here are all relatively muted about this season's success because we can hardly believe it. But, we could end up in the playoffs. It could happen. What would it take to get a Pitt-PSU playoff game? Is that even possible? I guess unlikely, since we only get in as the ACC champ, and we'd get a bye, and Oregon will be the Big Ten champ most likely. Or am I wrong here?

Pitt is the ONLY ACC team that controls their own destiny.

*in basketball only, Big 12 is lumped in with Big Ten/SEC for "jam as many teams as possible" because of their recent big money tv deals in hoops. I suspect this may be temporary for a few years as they will likely get downgraded in their next hoops contract.

The Big 12 does not have a "recent big money tv deal". Their "big money tv deal" pays their teams less than the ACC schools get from their television deal.

And there is no such thing as a "hoops contract" Every conference has always sold all their rights in one package. The Big 12 basketball rights were all a part of the deal that included Big 12 football. And most of the money that they got, just like all the other conferences, is because of football, not basketball.

Pitt’s new on campus football stadium

Buddy -
I’m not the one who thinks where we play football matters .
Oakland isn’t magic .

What will you go back to doing ?

That's the thing. If you are a Pitt football fan, a real Pitt football fan, then you don't give a rat's arse where Pitt plays their football games. When the games were at Pitt Stadium you went. When the games are at Accrisure you go. You don't have a hissy fit and and withhold your support because you don't like where the games are played. You don't swear off ever going to a game again until they cave in to your demand about where the team plays.

At the end of the day, if you are a Pitt fan you go to the game whether they are playing at Pitt Stadium or Accrisure or if they played at Highmark Stadium or North Allegheny or any place else. Because you are Pitt fan, not a Pitt Stadium fan.

Pitt is the ONLY ACC team that controls their own destiny.

The cool thing is if we beat SMU, we probably beat UVa and then we have the College Gameday game with Clemson to essentially clinch a bid in the ACCCG. And at 10-0, we have 2 paths to the playoffs:

1. Win the next 2 to finish 12-0 and you dont even need to win the ACCCG

2. Split the next 2 and then win the ACCCG for the auto bid.
I like you logic. Mine is:

If we just split SMU and Clemson, we have a good shot at the ACCCG. Of course, we'd have to beat BC, UVA, VILLE but those are looking more doable by the week. At 11-1, we'd have a head-to-head tiebreaker over either SMU or Clemson, and would just need the other to lose one game somewhere. Or maybe even get into a three-way tie and win on some tiebreaker.

And I'm just focused on one of SMU, Pitt, Clemson will almost certainly be in the ACCCG. I am just conceding Miami gets the other spot based on they are actually pretty good and their schedule is not. But if Miami were to trip up, then just a split with SMU and Clemson looks very good for an 11-1 and ACCCG spot.

Terminal B is the small terminal you are
Yeah I didn't mean specific terminal. C is the one that has all the smaller flights where people are just sitting on the floor all over the place and nothing to eat or drink except one little spot that is packed and overflowed. Unless they have repair.
Terminal B is the smaller one and C is the bigger one, I do united Club for food and drink as there several

I get why certain people on the playoff committee would push SEC/Big 10, but why would ESPN want to devalue the ACC in favor of the Big 10? ESPN has a vested financial interest in the ACC.
ESPN has stock in other leagues besides the SEC, including ACC. But the SEC is their main investment, they will protect it and promote it. They do not have as deep an investment in the Big Ten, but bringing the Big Ten along is part of the pact they had to make. So, let's say propping up the Big Ten to a degree is necessarily evil to protect their SEC investment, particularly because the CFP selection committee is Big Ten biased and ESPN doesn't control that committee to the degree CBS controls the NCAAT selection committee.
