Let's talk about Pitt's recruiting disadvantages

Simply put, Pitt can't compete with Larry Ellison.

larry ellison's chick is hot. i looked her up in another thread.

She has that hot (But cold) eastern european look going for her. like she is nice but she has that look where if you piss her off, she'll cut your throat in your sleep and her two uncles will take your body to somewhere it will never be found.

Let's talk about Pitt's recruiting disadvantages

It's really an arms race and Pitt is Luxemburg in comparison.

They really need to fix the lack a parity that is coming. There should be a cap on how much players can be paid and all endorsements need to be legitimate. Not sure how they can do it, but it works for the NFL. Else, just separate out he team from the colleges.
I dont know that a cap on how much a player can make would ever stand up

A cap on how much a school can spend (as they see fit) would help, i think

Recruiting Update Tight end transfer has Pitt visit scheduled

Northwest Missouri State tight end Zach Atkins has drawn a lot of interest since entering the transfer portal, and he told Rivals that Pitt is one of the schools he is scheduled to visit.

Here's what his schedule looks like:

North Carolina (Nov. 30 - Dec. 1) - although that's up in the air with the coaching change
Arkansas (Dec. 11-12)
Pitt (Dec. 13-14)
Ole Miss (Dec. 15-16)
Houston (Dec. 18-19)
South Carolina (Dec. 21-22)

While Atkins is coming from D-II, he's a pretty intriguing TE prospect. Check out film in the tweet below.

Big 12 in danger of not getting a CFP Bid

I remember what WVU fan that use to come around here and talk Big 12 vs ACC, and I would always argue the Big 12 has no future because it doesn’t have any high upside teams. So it’s going to struggle to even make the playoffs, let alone do anything in it if it even gets a team. Whereas the ACC has some high upside teams to the point where it doesn’t need the same team to always come through.

It’s funny that the first year of the expanded playoffs has already exposed the Big 12.

And it’s only going to get worse. The highest ranking Big 12 recruiting class is TCU at 22 with a .87 average recruit ranking. You’re not competing as a top team with that level of recruiting.

The Big 12 is really just the Old Big East under a different name. Utah hasnt been happy. I wonder if the B12 doesnt get a CFP combined with the perceived cheating for BYU would make them open to listening to an ACC offer.

New Big East
WVU
Cincy
TCU (joined Big East but never played in it)
UCF (USF substitute)
Houston (played in the Big East's renamed version AAC)

B12, P12 leftovers
Kansas
KSt
OK St
TT
Baylor
Iowa St
Arizona St
Arizona
Colorado

Colorado is a good brand but the league is mostly just garbage. Misfits.

The bloody weekend that was in the ACC

Mountain West not nearly the computer darling it was last year, that opens up some bids.

Also, for Pitt purposes, Capel pulled a Jamie this season and really scheduled the “cupcakes” well. Radford, Murray St (who is actually pretty good), Gardner Webb, Eastern KY…these teams are all winning games. We don’t really have the true bottom feeder 300+ teams this season.

Those Clemson wins are pretty good. Not quite LSU good, but not bad. They are in good shape.

Pretty clear this league has a top 4 of Duke UNC Pitt Clemson, and then I think Wake and LVille end up making it somehow.

ACC feels more likely to have 7 than 5, although 6 feels like the number (1 in Dayton)

I dont think Louisville is ready and Wake always plays themselves out. I think its Duke, UNC, Pitt, Clem + either NC St, ND, Stan, FSU. I guess you could throw Louisville in there too but I think 5 is the safe bet.

This is the root of Pitt’s struggles

The team that was the PAC 12 title game away from the playoffs and the Heisman trophy winner throwing to him?

Half the yard and half the TDs. He still went in first round but was projected as a top 10 pick before the season.

There's no way doesn't have a minimum of 1200-1300 yards 15 TDs at Pitt. Pitt also beats Tennessee, gtech and Louisville with him. That's one of those "what ifs" seasons imo.
