Losing Dunn is going to hurt in the short term, but may help longer term. Delalic and Cummings weren't going to get better sitting on the bench, and Capel seemed hesitant to play either much against the better competition.
Both these guys need to play in order to get accustomed to the speed and athleticism of major college basketball. They'll need the depth as the season wears on.
FWIW, we win that game last night if Dunn doesn't get hurt. No way we give up that lead and let Tonje go off if he's on the court.
It only hurts if we stack losses. Lets estimate 6 weeks return time for Dunn and he comes back for Duke in January.
We need to beat Stanford, Cal, Sam Houston State, Eastern Kentucky. We should be 10 plus point favorites in all of those at home. We have to win these games.
We need to beat Virginia Tech who sucks.
We hope to beat at least 1 of Mississippi State and Ohio State. And Ohio State is going to play us without 2 of their rotation bigs with Stewart having I think concussion issues and Bradshaw not even practicing right now because of legal issues. Bradshaw is their starting center. So Pitt vs Ohio State is going to be another test of who's guards are better.
