Semi OT: Larry Scirrotto chooses being a ref

Are you sure D1 basketball officials make that much per game? That number seems a little high.
That is a little high. I believe what they get per game varies per league and with the refs experience. They also have their travel costs covered. But Larry Scirrotto was one of the more senior refs in the Big 10 and I think also the A-10 and the Big East. You might figure him to average close to $2k per game. The busiest refs can do 80 games or more a year. So a busy top ref can easily make over $150k a season.

Is this the toughest team we'll face this year?

What struck me yesterday, about Pitt's play, was the bits of frustration with Louisville's blocking ability, as well as how they reacted to Louisville's dinks

I didn't see the SMU rematch game so I'm not sure what frustrated our Panthers in that game

Our girls are still a very young team - overall - regardless of their talent. I'm hoping we will see continued progression from VVG as a senior leader to help this talented group of women attain their goal as NC's

H2P!
The way Pitt blocks and positions it's back row defense, the Panthers are susceptible against the dink.

SMU -7

No one in Las Vegas has numbers up yet for next weeks games and won’t until tomorrow. None of the major offshore books do either, no one puts these out on Saturday especially when one of the teams is currently playing.

For what it’s worth I think SMU will open around -5.5 depending on what happens tonight.

SMU -7

I'll wait until the real line comes out after today's games, but if it is Pitt+7 I wouldn't just dismiss it. Vegas always knows something. Like we all thought Pitt -6 or so for Cuse was too high and look what happened. Obviously Vegas didn't think we'd curb stomp them (the line would have been even higher) but they correctly predicted it wouldn't be that close.

So, if it is Pitt +7 for SMU, they may know about a Pitt injury we don't or some matchup issues they don't like or whatever.
The line actually started at Pitt -3.5 and went up to -6.
