OT: Christmas songs we’ve somehow missed

Ok my inspiration for this post is the fact that’s there’s a Christmas song that I don’t think I ever heard until 2 weeks ago, and now that I have, I hear it every time I walk into a store or restaurant. It’s unbelievable that I missed this song for the past 25 years? It’s pretty good and it’s everywhere I go. I’ll link it below.

The song is “Christmastime” by Smashing Pumpkins. It’s from 1997, but I only first heard it watching The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special a few weeks ago. The song prominently is played during the show. So is this song seeing a Kate Bush Running up the Hill resurgence because of a streaming tv show, or have I lived under a rock for 25 years?

In any event, what are some other potentially obscure Christmas songs that one could be missing out on?

Not looking for Bing Crosby or the Ronettes here. Those are timeless traditional Christmas greats. Looking for the ones I could be missing out on like the Pumpkins.

Anyone?

Article In the film room: Likes and dislikes from the win over Sacred Heart

Another great film breakdown here from @StephenGertz on what stood out to him in Pitt's win over Sacred Heart.

Will the portal change the way recruiting is perceived/ranked?

Every year, more players go into the portal. Every year, teams take more players from the portal. Right now, the number of players a team gets through the portal in a given year is approaching a quarter or even a third of the number of players taken in their most recent recruiting class at some programs. This will almost certainly increase

I don't doubt that soon we will see "portal classes" being formally ranked by multiple websites, each using their own esoteric system of evaluation, and the results offered to paying subscribers. Who had the top 5 portal classes in 2025? Was your program in the top 25 of portal additions? It's content. Content is king

The amount of time and effort being spent on getting portal players is swiftly approaching the amount spent on getting high school recruits. As far as money, NIL money offered to portal players almost certainly already exceeds NIL money offered to high school players

My question is, will we see "recruiting rankings" change into "portal/recruiting rankings"? Ranking a team's "incoming class" based on a combination of both portal players, and high school players? I wouldn't be surprised if that does happen eventually
