Federico Federico had a solid double - double 17 points & 14 rebounds , 10 offensive boards. The 10 offensive boards is 1 short of THE SCHOOL RECORD held by Dejuan Blair and "Send it In Jerome" Lane. Those are 2 Great Pitt players. If he's not the starting center permanently this season Capel is crazy.

Jorge Diaz Graham played great too. He is still a little awkward at times but he gives 110% effort, has a nice stroke and is 6'11" tall.

They could very well start 0-10 before FAMU comes in. Could 0-20 in the ACC be in the works? Probably not. But WTF was Louisville thinking? Isarael makes 3rd team.

A couple notes tonight:

- Pitt had the three official visitors this weekend - Ty Dieffenbach, Jamari Johnson and TJ Harvison - plus Steel Valley defensive back Cruce Brookins came in for practice on Saturday.

- Dieffenbach is already committed, and I'm fairly confident Harvison will be, too. It likely won't be until Signing Day, but I expect him to be in Pitt's class, and he plans to enroll early, so that should come together nicely.

- Things went well with Johnson, from what I've heard. He was hosted by defensive tackle Elliott Donald, which is interesting for what it says about Donald's position with the team (the coaches can count on him to be a good representative). I don't know if Pitt will get him, but they made a positive impression.

- I still think Brookins is just a matter of time. He said he'll be announcing on Dec. 21, so that should be another Signing Day commitment for Pitt.

From the Pitt volleyball team making the Final Four to Pitt hoops posting another dominant second half and the Pitt football team losing a senior defensive end, there was a lot going on in the world of Pitt sports this weekend, and we're breaking it all down on the first Morning Pitt of the week.

Pitt rolled through a strong second half to log a 25-point win over Sacred Heart on Saturday. What stood out in the win?

Team would be better with Pickett out there.

I know some thought he should play more because he a WPA guy, but he lost his athleticism (not a great athlete to begin with)after gaining all the weight. Was never going to be much more than 3rd TE. Plus we are going to bring in someone to upgrade the spot. Seems like a good guy so best of luck to him.

Surprised we don’t have more in the portal yet. There are a handful of kids where it’s pretty clear they will have trouble ever getting PT.

Breaking news, I somehow got access to the conversation that took place between Morgan, Narduzzi and Partridge. Here is the transcript:

JM- I want to return for my 6th year but need to be the man. No more splitting reps with 4 and 5 guys.

PN- We like you and want you back. You are a Pitt guy and will once again have a good role but we can’t make guarantees.

JM- But look at the high percentage of reps Weaver & Jones got as vets.

CP- John, Weaver and Jones played at All American levels, there is a reason they got drafted. They made it easy by standing out.

PN- Look at RB this year, it was going to be an even split but Izzy took his game to another level and with that took the lead man spot. As you saw the split reps went out the window.

JM- But this was supposed to be my year and then Alexandre & Haba decided to return.

PN- Those guys & others had injuries and you had the chance to step up and be the man. After the WVU game when you played great we thought you were ready to be “That Guy”

JM- But I was, so it’s not fair

CP- I love you man and you tell me you love my honesty so please listen…besides 1 other play you basically disappeared the rest of the year. A guy like Hayes has talent and has been inconsistent but in the last game he had more sacks than you had all year.

JM- But wait I’m the Trap Walker, I’m that guy, I demand the most PT…

PN- We love you John but can’t make guarantees

JM- Not fair, my dad said Maryland called him and told him I would be the man!

CP- John Maryland sucks, no disrespect but we have a number of guys who can be the man there. We have schools coming after our young DL because they know we lead the nation in sacks every year. Samuel O, Nakhi, Dayon etc are wanted and we have to keep them but feel they make a nice combo with you.

PN- so much for his Twitter rants to start the year about loyalty.

CP- yeah he was getting to annoy some in the DL room with his attitude.

PN- so we agree there is no way we can use our limited NIL $ & can’t make guarantees to a solid but replaceable player.
