OT: Franco highlights with Curt Gowdy

Really brings back good memories hearing Gowdy's voice. Anyone my age here's Curt Gowdy and instantly these memories flood into the brain and sensory system:
1) Wow, this must be a big game
2) Likely a roast of some sort is being cooked for dinner
3) Oh shit, I have to get up for school tomorrow
4) Family is gathering
5) Steelers, Denver. Raiders, Chiefs, Dolphins are on at 4:00 on a Sunday
6) Oh crap, do I have homework due??

Well refs swollowed their whistles last few minutes....but still found a way to win.

Disaster averted, barely. Still refs refused to call a foul on Syracuse center with 4 fouls for the last 5 minutes. Also, Mintz is a good player but flops on EVERY PLAY.
Finally, I can't stand Boeheim or Syracuse basketball. Capel has now beaten them 4 out of last 5, that's something positive.

Congrats on win Pitt!

50th Anniversary of the Immaculate Reception…

is almost upon us. I saw this in Twitter and it still blows my mind. Two of the biggest games in sports history was the 7th game of the 1960 World Series and the Immaculate Reception. Bob Prince was there for both games. Ironically, he missed the iconic play in both games! Here is Art Rooney talking about missing the Immaculate Reception…

John Morgan wow what an incredible

Guy.

I literally never read that as a reason for leaving, and honestly I believe it. I mean, he can certainly leave and make some good money elsewhere also, so that is great, but his PSN interview was awesome

Wish him well, he was probably my favorite player on the team, high energy, great player and always built up his teammates. We have so much talent coming back it will be great still on the line

Recruiting Article Signing Day special: Bass talks about why he stuck with Pitt

Jordan Bass is one of the top overall recruits in Pitt's 2023 class. Today he joins Panther-Lair.com on YouTube to talk about why he picked the Panthers, why he stuck with them and what he hopes to accomplish at Pitt.

Observation

I think we are not far from being a consideration for the NCAA tournament. Last night, Capel said we played 30 minutes of beautiful basketball, and 10 minutes of tired basketball. So why was that? Answer: Our depth. The only ones on the bench that produce are Sibande and Jorge Diaz Graham. Your depth needs to be 10. WHATEVER is wrong with Hugley, and not playing, it ultimately weakens the bench, as Fedarico Fedarico has to start. With one more quality bench player, we should predict the NIT tournament, which is far better than anything we have seen since Dixon went to TCU.

Hinson

I started liking Pitt basketball when I was like 8 and rod brookin gave me a wink when I went to my first game and he was my guy. Through the years there have been guys I liked and Hinson is a guy that seems like a cool cucumber. Like his outlook on things. Like how he answers questions calmly and with true feelings and like how he plays. Not sure how Pitt will end up this year but pretty sure this is the most fun team since Capel got here. I hope they at least make nit.
