Great Mike Leach story

There are a lot of great Mike Leach stories out there, but I don't think I heard this one before.

Refs Trying To Give Texas The Match With San Diego.

San Diego won the first set and was leading the second set when they challenged a call. A. All hit by Texas clearly didn’t clear the net but was called a touch by San Diego. The replays showed it but the ref ruled the evidence inconclusive. Point Texas. San Diego deflateD. Texas invigorated.

Absolutely horrible call and Texas won the set. Why have replay if you ignore it.

Jaquez Keyes -RB

Keep an eye on this Running Back from Ironton. Jaquez Keyes is a 5’11- 205 pound running back from Ironton was a commit to Wisconsin for a long time. Comes to Pitt for an OV. He fits the Pitt running scheme perfectly. He’s from my area and his high school coach played for Duzz at MSU. He’s a good looking runnning back prospect he’s a player.

Weirdest preseason poll ever?

So there's an article on the Pitt web site that says that Pitt was finished to pick tied for 6th in the preseason gymnastics poll, and that they got one first place vote. Well that's kind of odd, the team picked to finish tied for 6th got a first place vote. Then I looked at the whole poll.

1. North Carolina – 48 points (one first-place vote)
2(t). NC State – 46 points (one first-place vote)
2(t). Temple – 46 points (one first-place vote)
4. Towson 43 – points (one first-place vote)
5. George Washington – 42 points (two first-place vote)
6(t). Pittsburgh 25 – points (one first-place vote)
6(t). New Hampshire 25 – points (one first-place vote)
8. LIU 13 points

Six of the eight teams in the league got one first place vote and one of them got all of two. And the one that got the most first place votes finished in 5th in the poll. I don't think I've ever seen a poll like that.

BTW, other than that first place vote Pitt (and New Hampshire) got a lot of sixth and seventh and a few eighth place votes. It seems weird that there is such a disparity there, especially if as is typical in these polls a coach is not allowed to vote for their own school.

Remaining recruiting targets

I've been trying to organize in my head who is left on the recruiting board, at least that we are aware of or who have been mentioned. I'm sure I will miss some or new guys will continue to pop up.

HS targets:
TE Jahmir Johnson
DE Maverick Gracio
DB Cruce Brookins

Transfers:
QB Christian Veilleux
RB Derrick Davis
WR Dante Cephus, Kyle Williams (UNLV), Decoldest Crawford, Dejan Reynolds (FL), Jayden Higgins (EKU), Jack Blech (LSU).
TE AJ Barner (Indiana)
DB Donovan McMillon.

Let me know who I might have missed.
