    The ONLY way youre going to get the results consistently that Pitt fans want in this day and age is to make a splash hire but that is not and never has been the Pitt way. Duzz has at least taken a good step of hiring a young energetic and respected OC. I think he needs to do the same thing...

    Good point. But Id also submit that Mario was more naturally gifted (the long reach, tall, more physically imposing) than Sid. Guys like that tend to rely more on their natural talent Sid while talented has had to put more sweat equity into his greatness and seems to be always working on...

    I’m a bit surprised he landed at a P5 school so good for him. It will be interesting if the TT staff can get him to develop more of an offensive game. He doesn’t lack athletic ability. If he does Capel needs to find someone who can develop bigs

    It’s way too early to count out Cruz and some of the younger guys. Lots of great players struggled early. But he and the rest of the young guys are struggling mightily at the plate

    Well you have so spend some cash on the supporting players as well. The Pirates recent history is they never spend the money to fill out the team and make it competitive. Right now the bullpen is killing them They have no first baseman Other than Reynolds the jury is out on the outfield...

    Yup. You’re not going to replace Blake. But you can find someone who plays better defense rebounds better and has more of an inside presence to go with a decent midrange/outside game.

    Think about this. A power play with Crosby guentzel rust and Karlsson was dead last. Hell you’d expect one with Jake and Sid and Karlsson to be at least middle of the pack Coaching matters. It’s imossible To defend Sully on this

    to be fair to Sid, what else to you expect him to say......we have a bunch of clowns who make horrible decisions and would rather make a pretty pass than take a shot or make a simple safe play........... But here is the dilemma as long as Sid is around there's no way they blow the thing up...

    Not to beat a dead horse but when you look at the losses a lot of the problems comes back to coaching. Undisciplined sloppy play ? Coaching. Poor power play ? Coaching. Crappy OT performance. Coaching Either these guys have tuned sully out and or the style of play he has them playing...

    He said that this spring as well when asked to comment on Hayes. Given this has happened after spring practice I’m leaning more towards Duzz sending a message and these guys not looking and or seeing their PT reduced by up and coming players
