    Aliquippa adds new recruit

Yeah, most of that sounds right. To my comment and probably what Recruitsreadtheseboards was referring to: There is/was a part of Venetia near Finleyville (around Venetia Rd) that had some smaller homes fairly near each other. So while most of Venetia was farmland, there was in area that was...

    Aliquippa adds new recruit

i think at one time it was like McMurray was the wealthy part of Peters and Venetia was the lower income part, though both had plenty of rural/farm properties too. But yeah, they've just about gentrified the whole district now, not many lower value homes left, but there are some they just maybe...

    Aliquippa adds new recruit

It's odd for me to hear people want to move into that school district because it was known as Heroin High in my day

Are you sure of that? I know for a while before all this new transfer rule stuff, they were 1A by size but chose to play 2A for better competition.

    The Buccos

I am fairly skeptical with the Pirates and yet I can actually see a strong rotation coming together. Keller and Jones are already in the bigs and Skenes will be any day (week) now. Then for this year and the next few, you fill it out with Perez, Gonzalzez, Chandler, Burrow, etc...whomever is...

Alleged Format Of 70 Team College Football Super League Leaks, Might Enrage Fans

i find it interesting that several posters have said they will watch Bama-LSU, Ohio St-Michigan, etc. because we have a team in the same league. But is Pitt really in the same league with those teams? I don't consider Bama, LSU, Ohio St, Mich, etc as football peers. They outclass us annually...

Bro...how can you be a fan of Pitt football, Pitt basketball, and the Pirates and NOT be a whiner?!

Alleged Format Of 70 Team College Football Super League Leaks, Might Enrage Fans

I don't know. Obviously some amount fans, like yourself, would watch less. But is it a big enough % that the TV execs would care? Do they think they could make up that difference, and then some, over time by appealing to new fans? The NFL only has 32 teams. Their fandom and ratings in the U.S...

Alleged Format Of 70 Team College Football Super League Leaks, Might Enrage Fans

That's a theory, that the ratings will go down if it's just the SEC and Big Ten, but the evidence to date does not support that theory. I pasted below the Top 50 college football games last year, in terms of TV ratings. 43 of the 50 most watched games (86%) involved at least one team from the...

Alleged Format Of 70 Team College Football Super League Leaks, Might Enrage Fans

Mostly correct on the TV money thing, but the climate is different now than it was for many decades, with all the channels and streaming platforms. I know many are owned by the same parent companies, but there is enough different options to create competition. What I am saying is CBS and NBC...

    Replacements Found

I have a simpler view of the world. I found this past Pitt team to be highly entertaining to watch. Lowe/Carrington/Ish/Hinson were all fun to watch play most nights. Season-long, I probably enjoyed following last year's team more than the Burton-lead team from the year before, though of course...

    The Buccos

Bad news, Bucs losing again. Good news, Bailey Falter only threw 70 pitches so he should be available to help lose games all the way through September!

So you can build a stadium at Hazelwood Glen...

I hope this concert is well-attended because it will be hugely insightful. First of all, I don't know where all the cars will park back there. I mean there is parking but not that much paved parking. There is plenty of green spaces I guess they can put cars in, so similar to Star Lake that way...

So you can build a stadium at Hazelwood Glen...

They'll just walk because all 50,000 attendees will be City of Pittsburgh residents, no one from outside the city limits will be attending. Or at least that's what the promoters are thinking, they aren't expecting to draw anyone from outside the city limits, they are having it the City because...

Alleged Format Of 70 Team College Football Super League Leaks, Might Enrage Fans

It makes a lot of sense for Pitt. It doesn't make much sense for SEC and Big Ten...why would they give away an advantageous position?

Well, we lost our best player today

Lol this team doesn't win a game in the SEC unless we draw Vandy, then it's a toss up for 1 win Luckily we don't play in the SEC. I am going to have a great time Labor Day weekend eating ribs and watching us beat a cupcake. After that.....yikes....

Damon Hayes to the transfer portal per PG's Chris Carter

Yeah, but we are talking about a 3 win team that was brutal to watch most of the time last year. Just had a 'meh' Spring game where the QBs looked blah. Then they lost their most accomplished returning player. Doesn't exude a lot of excitement to come down to the ketchup bottle 7 times.
