Too bad baseball rules don't work in college football

If baseball rules in Pittsburgh applied, Pitt would have sent Henderson to Ohio State for cash and a Division II player to be named later.

Anyone watching the WVU - VT game?

In truth, very few college teams have great defenses. That's why keeping Canada would have been ideal ... he knew the way we could score and score in bunches ... which is the only way we can win.

Anyone watching the WVU - VT game?

She looks like one of those myriad Fox News hotties who are "Republican Party Consultants". The one I'm thinking of (man, am I thinking of her, too) has redder hair though ... and a bit of an odd eye-crossing thing going .... but, man... And before somebody starts to ran against me for noting...

    Local media outraged!!!

Pitt itself should be the bully. Nothing is more important to this miserable region that the University and it's (somewhat detached now) medical arm. Time to throw the freakin' weight around for once. I'm glad to see it.

    Local media outraged!!!

They're showing up because they expect PSU to annihilate us. They ignored our basketball games with PSU almost completely (back when we were kiling them...we can miraculously expect heavy coverage THIS year now that they'll have a chance to win). It's their right I suppose ... but Pitt is...

    Local media outraged!!!

Sadly it's pretty hard to refute most of that ... But, and Peak should just ban me because I'm not going to let it go, especially this week ... PSU SHOULD NOT HAVE A PROGRAM DUE TO THE CHILD RAPES.

    Local media outraged!!!

In those situations, I just say it's (1) the few local reps we have in the media responsibility to give it back, and (2) it's our program's responsibility to improve it's program and win, which is the ultimate sock down the throat response. If your program sucks, you kind of deserve the...

AND THEY SHOULD. We SHOULD have it shut down if that happened!

    Local media outraged!!!

Honestly, that is not even so bad. It's just old fashioned ball breaking among rivals. Like when we say stuff about their drunkenness, horrible academics, etc. But WVU to my knowledge never raped dozens of children. That is the big difference. PSU FOOTBALL SHOULD NOT EXIST.

    Local media outraged!!!

If the media kissed our ass like they get ... or geez, even like the Pirates get ... heck yeah, give them all the access in the world. We know it's the opposite of that.

That is a fair point. The negativity and bias is just too egregious to make seeing "quotes" worth it though.

Immediacy Bias Again Raises its Ugly Head

3 games fits well with Pitt's half-tailed approach that never, ever works. Great, suspend em just long enough to basically ruin the season by mostly ensuring a horrendous first month ... but these selfish guys end up still getting to play anyway. So, terrible outcome for the team, yet no...

    Holy Cow! UCLA Wins, 45-44!

More impressive to come back against A&M than us because they are a serious program; but on the flip side, Houston stunk, so maybe it was more impressive they were able to pull it off.

No way Max Browne legitimately beat out Ben DaNucci.

Again, the damnation belongs on such poor QB recruiting that we're even arguing about this. I definitely haven't forgotten that his only other offer was Penn and he was SUPPOSED to have been a good-PR offer by the new (at the time) coach in order to try to help sway the real prize, Jurkivec (no...

    Congrats to Matt Galambos...

He was very solid in the times I saw him (granted, only a few isolated moments) in the preseason. Must have impressed. Congrats.

    NCAA Preseason thoughts . . .

It's not, for the likes of us. We do it because we (like all FBS schools) want more home games than away; and there aren't enough lower grade FBS teams to go around for the P5 teams to play one and done with, so we've been priced out. PSU will apparently pay Akron far more than we will for...

No way Max Browne legitimately beat out Ben DaNucci.

Weirdly though, it was his "leadership" intangibles that were cited all summer as what put him over the top of Da Nooch in the 'competition', and why he was voted by teammates (so the coach said) as a team captain ... so either we have really putrid leadership among the other players, or they...

That probably is the most astonishing point ... Walt was a better LB recruiter (not saying he was good, just better than what we've had for ten years now).

Fair points. We certainly don't have the most amped rah-rah fan base. I'm sick and tired of the gripe about the Duke game though. First, I was there and it was a solid crowd for Pitt. If only 15,000 showed, that would have been a legit condemnation but we had our usual 45,000 or so. For a...
