Loses their first match of the season to unranked Loyola Maramount rpi 58. They lost in 3 straight sets. Not that it matters much to Pitt but a huge upset in VB.

Btw, this was their last match of the regular season. What a kick to the butt that is!

One month ago byu beat lmu in straight sets.

This leaves pitt with the best record with one game to go.

Wonder if they will drop down 5-6 spots for losing once.

I understand ACC volleyball isn’t the best but it’s also not a god awful. Seems crazy to me Pitt isn’t higher than 10 with 1 loss and beating a few teams OOC in the top 20.

There is a very good chance that they will lose out on a top four seed in the NCAA tournament, which is the difference between hosting the Sweet 16/Elite 8 and having to play those rounds on the road.

The other thing that is going to hurt them is that their best player got hurt a couple weeks ago and is out for the rest of the year, and they have clearly not played as well without her.

Ok tx for the clarification. Was racking my brain.
