#1 Men's Soccer
The #1 Pitt men's soccer team traveled to #17 Virginia Tech, and following a day delay which moved the game to Saturday, came away with a 2-0 win, with both goals scored in the second half.
Pitt is 7-1-0 overall and 3-0-0 in the ACC.
This coming week, Pitt steps out of conference to host Howard Wednesday Oct 2nd (7pm) at Ambrose Urbanic Field (ACCNX). That is followed by hosting #5 Denver on Monday October 7th (7pm) at Ambrose Urbanic (ACCN).

#1 Volleyball
The #1 Women's volleyball team opened ACC play by traveling to Clemson and #13 Georgia Tech.
At Clemson (8-4), Pitt swept the Tigers 25-21, 25-15, and 25-13.
At #13 ranked Georgia Tech, Pitt also swept the Jackets 25-11, 25-17, and 25-8 in an absolute beat down of the 13th ranked team in the nation.
Pitt is 12-0 overall and 2-0 in the ACC, and has preserved its unbeaten set streak at 36-0, the only team that has not lost a set this season.
This coming week, Pitt travels to Boston College for 7pm match in Chestnut Hill on Friday October 4th (ACCNX), and then visits Syracuse for an 11am match on Sunday October 6th (ACCNX).

Pitt's streak of having 2 #1 ranked teams at the same time should continue into a second week.

And I do not think many Pitt fans realize how absolutely dominant the volleyball team is. They are just a #1 team that is barely #1...they are completely poised to win Pitt's first ever NCAA-awarded team national title, with the only other team pundits are mentioning are in their same category is traditional powerhouse #2 ranked Nebraska. It may be a race between men's soccer and volleyball who can cross the national title chase first.

And women’s soccer picked up a 1-1 draw on the road at #6 Stanford.

It really is remarkable how the best Olympic sports conference in America managed to get *even better*. That Pitt/Stanford WVB match in a few weeks is going to be an incredible environment.

The Howard contingent will be up at Ambrose Urbanic checking out the ACC facilities in preparation for a potential move.
