Valid point. Don't know if that's the case, but that makes much more sense now.

There are so many different formulas; this one has PITT ranked at 25 (74.27( 25)), whereas PSU is 26 (74.26( 26)). PSU is a bit inflated due to their game against OSU, whereas PITT will be a bit inflated after their game against Clemson this coming weekend. PITT has had a slightly more difficult average opponent to this point in the season. Moving forward, PITT will end up with a SOS in the very low 20s to upper teens.
