It was great we had a coach that got a middling school to the big dance 11 out of 13 years. Over under on tournament trips the next 13 years is 4.

If just one of those 4 trips produces an exciting, unexpected win over a better-seeded team, that will be one more more than Jamie provided during his entire tenure.

No program with as much regular season success as Pitt these past 13 years should have choked so badly and consistently in the NCAA tournament.

I will always appreciate the way Jamie elevated Pitt during the height of the Big East. I will never forget how totally deflating every March has been.

There was no mystery anymore with Jamie. Good or even great regular season. Disgusting tournament performance. And lately "good" is barely a term we could use to describe the regular season.

Barnes' "meh..." approach to Jamie's departure was absolutely correct.
