I like these names better than a guy like John Becker who has simply maintained the best program in the America East.

Ron Hunter - Georgia State - tremendous personality, maybe even over the top. Was an NAIA coach at IUPUI and transitioned them to D1. After 3 years struggling with the move, all he did was win there. He upgraded to Georgia State, a program with no history. Has won 20 games in 5 of 7 seasons there. Is one of only 4 NCAA coaches to be the winningest coach at 2 different schools

Dan Dantoni - Mike's brother, coach of Marshall - again tremendous personality, took Marshall from nothing to the NCAAT. Huge analytics guy, wants a team of all 3 point shooters basically. Offense, offense, offense, and for real not the fake offensibe genius stuff we heard from Stallings. The downside is defense is optional. Not sure you can win in the ACC unless you can play good D.

I like to see guys elevate programs. A guy like Becker scares me because Vermont has been the best program in that league for a long time with different coaches and its a very bad league. Is it Becker or is it the program?

Dan D’Antoni is a 70 year-old Marshall alum.

You aren’t even trying at this point.

Dang, 70? Didn't realize that. Forget that.

I like Hunter. And I'll tell you what, I'm coming around on Mark Schmidt. St. Bonaventure is a middle of nowhere Duquesne and he wins there.

We can hire Hunter only if he brings Damon Wilson back. LOL

People bitched for two years that all Pitt did was shoot 3 pointers and not try to rebound... Dan D'Antoni uses this exact philosophy. Remember the awful Pitt/Marshall game last year at the Pete? Even if he was 45 years old and not from West Virginia that would be a horrible direction to go.

Yup you're right, Schmidt has won despite Bonnies being in Olean, N.Y. (middle of nowhere). In fact they play tonight against UCLA in the last four play in group.
I don't feel he's what we need at Pitt. He's won with mostly 2 star types, and many
JUCO's and transfers. I've also watched him get out coached by some of his peers,
Davidson's Mckillop most recently. He also split with Hurley this year ( a good thing).
With all that said, I believe he could get us to maybe the middle of the ACC in a few
years. Most Pitt people want more than that, and IMO he wouldn't be able to do
it, Just my opinion.

We saw that in full display when we played Marshall last year. The trouble was we couldn't play D either.
