Agree with #1 in spades (they should grab a student and have him near the sidelines screaming "ball" to get these kids to turn back to the qb). As far as #2, they probably should have called PI on the Pitt dbs every pass of the game. The were not as bad as suddenly "maniac" Narudzzi made them out to be.
- Our DBs need to learn to turn their head around
- ACC needs to fire the refs from the game last night
And you also said that play near the end zone WASN'T pass interference when it clearly was. As others have pointed out, Pitt could have been called for PI almost every VT throw. They were grabbing jerseys, arms, etc... it was ridiculous. And in that particular play he never turned his head around at all. Just awful coverage. There were plenty of missed non calls like the Offense PI helmet grab n twist... no facemask play on Conner.... non clock expires call of VT that led to 5 minutes of deciding if one bounce "counts" when it's VT on offense.... it was horrible last night and for those of you citing Palmers remarks he even commented the refs didn't even seem to be making calls consistent within the own earlier calls... in short it was a bizarre mess...
Stop posting troll how bout that?Stop with the referee's just make plays. Pitt needs to play better it's as simple as that.
No he turned his head at the tail end once VT's player had stopped running. He was literally chasing the VT player until he stopped then looked over as the ball was almost there. I'm saying none of our guys seem to turn their head earlier to follow the ball and the player.Poker I have DVR which unbelievably I did not erase.... I want to inform you your version of what happened on the PI was just absolutely DEAD ASS WRONG.... he not only turned his head he also followed the ball to break up the reception.... I just rewatched that play three times and you obviously have no idea what you saw that was abundantly clear on any HD screen.... just as I remember it from last night the play looks the same today.... just wrong period
No you are so full of it.... you just said he never turned his head AT ALL... now I point out exactly how wrong you were and you try to weasel out by parsing words.... ridiculous. He turned his head yes? He followed the ball yes? He broke up the pass yes? .... to make matters worse they didn't flag Jackson 11 whose coverage and grabbing and not looking were blatant.... anyone defending the refs last night is a damn fool.No he turned his head at the tail end once VT's player had stopped running. You don't get it so I am done trying to explain anything to you. Reread JD's post last night after that play and get new glasses. No you are so full of it.... you just said he never turned his head AT ALL... now I point out exactly how wrong you were and you try to weasel out by parsing words.... ridiculous. EXACTLY!!!! The refs probably should have called PI on us 15 times during the game. They were grabbing and yanking the jerseys every VT throw. Our CBs literally pull jersey on every play. If the refs should be fitted it is because they didn't call us for PI 15 times or penalize our HC for his Brian Kelly impersonation, not only with being a red-faced maniac, but refusing to adapt to try to win football games.
No pressure on the QB!

Not trying to make excuses, but how many other power 5 teams are starting so many true and redshirt freshmen at CB? Yes they have to turn their heads around, but unfortunately with these super young guys it's going to be painful from here out. On the bright side last night's game could've been 21-0 in the first quarter; the defense actually played ok and bailed out the 2 early turnovers.

Thank goodness that they called it the way they did, then.I'm sorry but either you realize your defensive scheme is to hold all night and dare them to call PI or you don't. Yes VA Tech was pushing off...because they were being held. You do realize holding on every play and having your coach go apeshit to try to influence the next call is not a normal defensive strategy? If the referees would have been consistent the game would have lasted 6 hours.
Notre Dame.... and we see how well that's going... that's why this adjustment stuff is garbage.... I'd love to see drastic improvement but I'm not buying that argument...Not trying to make excuses, but how many other power 5 teams are starting so many true and redshirt freshmen at CB? No its not bullshit. PSU started a walk on and a true freshman at LB against Minnesota. Have a redshirt freshman and true freshman at offensive guard. Is the 2nd youngest team in college football. what do they do? They change the schemes to help the players. Why didn't Narduzzi drop the safeties back and play a shell? VA Tech QB was hurt so he couldn't run the ball. Why not take away the jump balls and make them drive the ball? No instead he says they need to play better and leaves your weakest unit alone with no help. I love it because you had Wade sitting there in the stands who on a good day is 5-9. I'm sure he enjoyed watching corners on an island with no help.trying to defend 6-3 wide outs on jump balls all game. It's not exactly ideal to his style. Your coach lost you this game. You're coach turned what could be a great season into a possible 5 loss season with a senior laden team averaging 35 points. I have no idea how any one can say he is the right guy.
Even with all the holding and grabbing VT wide outs still were able to locate and catch the ball were as the defenders were clueless as to were the ball was . Can't just blame these refs it's been happening all season . Lack of talent ,lack of experience and an inability to alter schemes by the coaching staff all add up to the worst pass defense I've ever seen .
We have 2 or 3 Div. caliber players on the entire defense. ...only one in the back 7 and he's used to focus on stopping the run.
You can thank Chryst and House. Somebody has to play.True, but why is that? - and if they are seniors and are that bad, why are they playing?
