Will Pitt be able to secure a strong high school class from this group or will we have to look elsewhere?

This is not an easy question. I think they "could" secure a strong class from all these players. Will they is a good question. I do not pretend to know what all goes into the recruiting process. Obviously you have a long list for a handful of positions. Which do we pursue the hardest, and when? When do we start to pursue plan B players before they loose interest and go elsewhere? I am not sure what the Dixon formula is here. I really think we are hurting at the guard position. I am thinking we may need to press quite hard on a few of these guys and take whoever comes our way. Really don't think we are in a position of being too fine. Yes we need to ensure we get a decent player, but it does not have to be the McDonald's All American....at least not right away. We need to restock the cabinet rather quickly.

After this season Pitt has 1 guard returning, Josh Newkirk, who now has 1 leg. Hurting at the guard position is a massive understatement. We don't have any future guards on the team for the future. None. I sound like a broken record but we need 5 new guards. I still can't understand how we got to this point. It's a cross between sad and ridiculous. And Im sorry, but giving excuses as to why Heron, Rowan, Temple Gibbs, or any other guard we tried to get is just that, excuses covering for Dixon. It's Dixon's fault. Ill take Charlie Moore at Point guard. The kid is a smurf at 5'8 but he can shoot, dribble, and score. He doesn't have many offers because he is so small. We have to beat out St.John's and Georgia Tech as of now. Probably a massive uphill battle for Pitt who plays in the ACC as Georgia Tech and St. John's just have so much more to offer than us, but maybe we can try.

My guess is there are other kids we're aware of with potential to really improve. BTW...the Beck kid looks like a player to me. Rangy, atheltic decent handle. A true SF??

Wrong....Damon Wilson. You dismiss more kids than an angry school teacher. Hey, maybe you are.

I agree with you on Charlie Moore. He is a great example. He is a kid I would take right now to get someone into the fold. Levance Fields? We seem to wait on these types of players until they gain interest and are courted by other schools. Then we loose out.

You keep saying that Wilson won't qualify. Do you have first knowledge or are you assuming because Eubanks didn't qualify last year?

The top rated of those listed would result in a class of:

Mosley 104 - Brown 53 - Maginault 121 - T.Jones 115 Would that be considered a solid class?

He doesn't know a thing. Just a whiny little girly-man.
