What I can never understand is why these types of conferences don't have award their AQ by having their tournament champion play the regular season championship. That ensures that the best team gets 2 bites at the apple. It takes some drama away from the conference championship game but these TV deals are so small, how much less is ESPN really going to pay knowing that the conference championship may not determine the NCAAT representative. They'd also get the champion vs champion game to make up for it.
