I don’t know man. I don’t think this season is going to be enough of a train wreck to fire him. And given what we supposedly owe him it seems more likely he will be back.
NCAA or fired was the ultimatum. Barring 13-7 in the ACC he is out
I really wanted to see Capel be successful here. If it does get to that, I could get pretty excited about Odom though.

I am with Pittman2003, they really do not want to fire him. I see the administration backing down from that stance, NIT will do it, IMO
I don’t think he’s coming back. If that situation was a slam dunk, he would’ve been immediately reinstated as others have been.
Not sure whether it’s true or not but heard from a media member that they currently are working out the details of him being able to travel to away games with his probation situation.
Its basic common sense. I would say her decision becomes much harder if we make the NIT and maybe make a run to MSG or something like that. But, yea, you cant go 5 seasons without making the NCAAT unless you've really been on the cusp of it.
The other thing is that Capel was brought in as a recruiter....and with this mass transfer era, that type of coach has become obsolete. Everyone will eventually transfer so you need to find the best X and O coach. HS recruiting doesn't mean as much anymore since you wont have those players as upper classmen.
Not as much schmoozing with the parents since the kids in the portal are somewhat on their way to manhood. But still a little recruiting going on with these portal types besides the money.
That's another good point. Traveling to away games is a violation of his parole, correct? If he's even on the team, which he isn't.
Its different. Portal kids are more about business decisions. NIL, playing time, NCAA Tournament. HS kids go to whichever coach is the coolest and whoever has the coolest uniforms. And the portal market is much different as there are more players who can step in and make a difference than a HS player, of which there's what 75 or so kids who can make a positive difference in Year 1. So you have a better chance of landing a difference making portal kid than a HS kid
