Why mess with success in the second half and the fact that they were playing zone meant that they weren't as apt to get tired. Go with the hot hand and there was no way Femi was coming out.

Reluctant/hesitant to admit by his actions, that these two players were not as good as advertized.

Benching them, requires an examination of his belief system And a tacit admission of failure with recent attempts at talent acquisition.

In some circumstances I have no doubt higher level recruits get a longer leash for many reasons. Including what you’re saying here. But he’s coaching for his job so I just don’t buy it now. All that’s out the window.

I could certainly see him doing that year 1 with McGowens Toney and X. He didn’t need to obviously but then it would make some sense. But not now.
