The last 6 games don't count. H2PUSF also did it in 2018. Heck of an accomplishment.
So what??? Honestly, why bring it up unless you are just trying to make the program look bad. I mean, if you are a Pitt fan and I am pretty sure you are, then you know why the team ended up with the record they did.USF also did it in 2018. Heck of an accomplishment.

It was not bad coaching, nor was it poor play by players. There were some BIG injuries to some every key position players that made a HUGE impact on the team this year. Quite simply, the loss of Eli Holstein was enormous. The poor kid knew the team needed him to play and pushed himself to come back probably much sooner then what he should have done. He never looked the same after the first concussion. For me, that had much more impact then the teams they played. I appreciate what Nate Yarnell tried to do, but he is no way near the QB that Eli Holstein was.
After the debacle of last season, this year was a pleasant surprise, regardless of what the teams W-L record was.
You need an Oline to protect a QBYou dont need Eli Holstein to beat UVa, BC, or Toledo. Also, Yarnell was the guy they handed the keys to until Holstein beat him out.
Obviously, you DO need Holstein to beat those teams. If you can't see a difference in the Pitt offense with Holstein in there compared to when Yarnell is in there, then you have problem my friend. Also, why they "handed the keys" to Yarnell is beyond me. I would have certainly given Julian Dugger a shot at playing. He is the type of athletic QB that Kade Bell needs to run his offense. With Holstein playing an injury free season, Pitt probably goes at least 10-2.You dont need Eli Holstein to beat UVa, BC, or Toledo. That’s what I said about Dugger the other day when some thought he wouldn’t work well with Bell ?Obviously, you DO need Holstein to beat those teams. It is poor coaching when you are up by almost 30 in the 4th quarter and you have your starting QB running the ball. It is poor coaching when you are beating Clemson in the 4th and their QB runs 50 yards for a TD. It is poor coaching when you have first and goal at the 3 and you bungle the play calling then kick a field goal to tie.So what??? Honestly, why bring it up unless you are just trying to make the program look bad. just want to add that it's not only poor coaching in those examples(and there are many more) but it definitely is poor coaching and extremely poor coaching in both putting up three fingers and several minutes earlier with 8 minutes to go up 10 throwing the ball instead of virtually locking up the gameIt is poor coaching when you are up by almost 30 in the 4th quarter and you have your starting QB running the ball. This is the issue/question I have with Narduzzi and staff.Obviously, you DO need Holstein to beat those teams. SMF...Do you remember the mess that the program was last year? For the program to rebound as well and as quickly as it does actually support how good of a job the coaching staff did. Recruiting??? Don't even make me laugh. What in the world does recruiting have to do with success in college football of 2024? You don't even need to recruit any more, just go out and find yourself a Pitt football donor with some deep pockets and use that person's money to help "recruit" to the Pitt football program. Pitt got very lucky being able to find a young OC like Kade Bell and even luckier to be able find a guy like Eli Holstein to fit into that offense. The other QB's (other then Dugger) on the depth chart, need to transfer elsewhere because they are not the type of QB that can run that Kade Bell offense. The fact that they needed Holstein to beat UVa, BC, and Toledo is coaching/recruiting deficiency.
