30,000 empty seats im Morgantown

maybe the fact that they're playing Iowa St. instead of Pitt Thanksgiving weekend is a turn off. Big 12 opponents can't get people that excited to go to a game. The geography makes no sense for WVU in the Big 12

Sure. We get it.

But to hear the Hoopies talk, we're supposed to believe that it's "standing room only" at Puskar Stadium - every game.

Their best days are loooong behind them. They had one last shot for a title and we kicked them in the nuts 13-9...They won't sniff the cfb in the next 30 years

The weather was cold and rainy and playing a 3 win team on a holiday weekend. Yet, more actual fans than Pitt against a traditional rival like the hurricanes on a beautiful fall day. I chuckle at how you all can insinuate that our coaching position is unstable when your on your 5th coach in the last 10 years really???

Dantonio future at mich st and your present coach's connection should have your AD keeping replacements ready.

Count the excuses...cold,rainy,looser team(add home team too), holiday weekend... catch the drift... Maybe should have added needed to get ready for deer huntin... Maybe the unstable coach will call out your hoopie fan base ...again.

Time to spray deer piss all over yourself....

Honestly, unless a team has a really lot to play for, or they are playing in a big rivalry game, attendance on Thanksgiving weekend is usually down across the board. Students are gone, people are traveling etc. The Arkansas/Mizzou had equally embarrassing attendance yesterday. Some of the Backyard Brawls on the Holiday weekend were played in front of sparse crowds from 1997-2001, back when the Hoopies weren't so hot and struggling with an identity.

TD_6082, I can easily agree with your posts above and credit you for speaking it. But the Mountaineers always talk as if their yelling in the stands wins games on the field, and then dump on Pitt. I still have not seen one fan win a game? When WVU can't back up their Talk then don't dump on Pitt's Walk! Pitt is by no means has the attendance we expect and need, but even of Pitt sold out every game. It still would be less than PSU & Near WVU. Until Teams wins 10+ games over Ten Years it is tough to attract Fans.

The key now is finding Coaches that can win at one's Program, I think Pitt has done that, after 19 years of mediocre malaise athletic management and they have a far more more impact than any Fans!
