30 more seconds...

They had plenty of time. They ran the same play on the 4th down play where we had blown an assignment. Stupidity more than anything else.

HTP!!!
Better refereeing calls and we win by 14. Penn State held on almost every play. Questionable interference led to a 1 play drive. Want to go on and on about this?

This makes zero sense. We had the ball at the end, they didn't run out of time. Try again.

This is just plain silly. And if we had 5 more minutes, we lay another 2 TD's on them. LOL! That could have happened, too.

The final score was not indicative of the dominance that Pitt had over PSU yesterday. PSU was very, very lucky they were even in the game in the 4th quarter. But we won, PSU lost, and all is right with the world today.

I prefer to view it as, we keep the playbook open and the pedal to the metal all day instead of sitting on our lead, and we win by 28. There never should've been any drama in that thing, it could and should have been a lopsided blowout.

Canada and Dooz really took their foot off the gas pedal in that second half. Hope they never do that again.

The second-half offense looked more like the offense Pitt ran against 'Nova than the first-half offense. Without the big kickoff return, Pitt might well have only scored 7 points in the second half.

By the way, haven't seen any mention of the 49-yard field goal attempt. Did an,hone thing he was going to make that kick?

Actually,if there were 30 more seconds, does psu go for it on 4th and 16?
For all the drama, if Pitt holds them...like they should have in that situation.....game over.

But with 1:15 left in the game Pitt Lewis proved in reality what you think in your imagination. I agree, if it went into Overtime, Blewitt may not have been able to win it, but that is pure speculation now and Pitt won and that is reality!

Blewitt has a confidence problem t=right now, and Narduzzi has to fix it, that is a reality too, i want to see resolved soon!

I listened to Hilgrove and Osbourne more than I did the tv announcers.

Anyways, Osbourne kept mentioning that in the second half, when putting Henderson in motion, Pitt wasn't snapping the ball until Henderson ran past the qb.

In the first half, Pitt snapped it early, and thus psu had to account for him. They didn't in the second half and thus could focus entirely on Conner.

Did anyone else spot this, and did his observation have merit?

I definitely saw that and thought it was odd they went away from what was crushing them in the first half

It wasn't just a more conservative plan ...for crying out loud ...stupid penalties are what was a huge help for PSU... We picked up 3 in the first minute of play 2nd half alone....

That's true, but the playcalling was a bigger factor. We weren't getting anything on first down in the second half. We never once took a shot down the field, which was there all day. We were killing them up front, they made some adjustments, set a harder edge with their DEs, brought their safeties up tighter, and tightened up against our run looks. When they did that We burned them a few times I the first half with the TE, the shovel pass, etc, but we went away from that mixture in the second half.

I have to say I was disappointed that we didn't blow them out, we had them on the ropes amd were clearly the superior team. We could have stepped on their necks and finished it. I have never been a fan of sitting on a lead.

In the first half, we gave the ball to the fast guys. In the second half, we gave the ball to the slower guys. I'm thinking it's probably better to get the ball to the faster guys...o_O

Which brings up George Hill. I suspect that had speedster George Hill been able to continue playing, he would have been on the end of some of those sweeps with his great speed. Could have given Henderson some rest -- QH had to be exhausted after that game, though he was still flying in the 4th quarter.

Go Pitt.

Pitt needs more work in pass defense and pressuring the qb a lot of their receivers were wide open especially splitting the lanes between the secondary but the defense did a great job against the run, I believe thing are looking up
