Pre-season ranks are dumb. Don't do an AP or coaches poll until game 5. On the other hand, those polls determine nothing now with the CFP.

I agree but even 5 games in most teams are still question marks.

Correct, the people voting on these things are mostly clueless, many of the ones that do actually follow the sport closely dont take their ballots seriously.
