412 Defensive Backfield

It's easy to talk about the potential starters, but how about the depth we'll have. Hell, i'd be ok with these 4 starting!

CB - Coleman
S - Garner, Stocker
S - Campbell
CB - Miller

This defensive backfield has the potential to be something special and fast.

-As long as everything holds, the defensive line is going to be right with these groups. This group looks great and almost Elite on paper right now. We are still in the drivers seat for Jeter and Garbutt, and on the very very short list for Jaylen Twyman who probably will be an upgraded 4 star player on the line before its over, he's already upgraded to a 4 by ESPN with Florida, Michigan State, and Tennessee all coming after him among others If we pull those 3, we completely cleaned house again for the 2nd year in a row on the dline. This would also give us arguably the best future dline in the acc, and also one of the best in the country for a 2 year recruiting window.

The potential and promise of these guys all look good. Easy to get excited about the prospects, just have to remember though that it is just potential and promise as of now. How many college games combined have been played by all the names mentioned in this thread??

So I should sit here and be depressed thinking these kids are overrated and will suck just because they picked Pitt?

I don't understand this we have to temper everybody's excitement and bring them down from a high. You raise expectations for these kids and let them dissapoint you and then get replaced if they suck. I'm tired of seeing the solid with limited upside potential we saw for the past 5 years. Time to bring in high ceiling kids, even if their bust rate is higher. Shoot for the stars and miss, don't be scared to shoot for the stars and play it safe.

Ditto, and add in Two Experienced Linebackers and Pitt's Defense should be way better this year and even better for years to come.

I felt the same way, until I am reading how the Players say they are far ready and better prepared than last year, and then I hear Coach Pat on the Radio, and Staff on Youtube.

I don't want to sound like "Fail Safe" but I do think Pitt has moved from DEFCON 5 to 4 in 2015 to DEFCON 3 to 2 in 2016.

Defense Confidence is Higher than last year, with experience, leaders in each Unit of DB, LB, and DL, Back Ups, Players Bigger and Faster, Film Room Commitments, and Coaches are saying it because they are seeing it, and still a work in progress of never being satisfied, just Like Coach Pat did at MSU!

Add in, Pitt Offense will have the Wideouts, and you got a pretty damn good Team going into 2016. Only one thing I am worried about are Injuries. Pitt still needs more Depth?

We shall see, but if Pitt Offense has Ball control, this year the Pitt Defense will have more Take Aways, since they know each other and the system better.
