I'll bet.. and don't take this the wrong way.. i'd like to pocket the cash. If you don't want to do it that way, that's fine.
As for Nike not getting minutes, he was out of the rotation for half the year because they weren't sure he'd be eligible. Pitt was playing well and guys had established their role when he came back for Miami. That's not an indictment on him. He still got minutes.. but he wasn't going to start halfway through the year on a team that started red hot in ACC play. I don't blame Capel for not changing the rotation.. it was the right move at the time. You have to look at it from an investment standpoint.
You weren't jeopardizing X and Toney's minutes. You needed Horton out there for shooting. You weren't taking Femi off the court and risking him leaving after how he was playing. Sibande, at the time, was expendable because 1) he didn't establish any minutes because he wasn't eligible and 2) he had 1 year left.
when he did play, he balled out. He has elite bounce. He has a decent shot. He's a pretty big guard. Sure, he's coming off an ACL, but the guy can play. He puts so much pressure on defenses with his driving ability. He's very underrated on here.
What's funny is that everyone acts like he sat the whole year.
He played 9 games with reserve minutes. He played 5 games with starter minutes. It's not like he played 20 games reserve and 2 as a starter. That's how it's played out on here though. We all just cherry pick the 9 games he was coming off the bench.
I think a loose example is the Memphis Grizzlies this year. Dillon Brooks was penciled in for 30+ min a game. He was hurt all year.. came back mid year.. got hurt again. Desmond Bane has been unreal and Memphis rolled through the west this year. Would you really sit Bane for Brooks when he's healthy? Again, loose example, but when guys aren't in the rotation because of eligibility or injury, it's hard to supplant them.. especially when you're new to the program.
