So there is this lovely conflict that arises when a game is both on espn 3 and one of the pay channels. I can't watch on either because 3 is blocked out and my college bball package doesn't always work. So here are my thoughts without actually watching but just keeping track on twitter and espn:
- I find it very interesting that we struggled in the first game where Artis really went off. He was 10/14 from the field and 8/8 from the line. It doesn't sound like he forced it if he was so efficient so I'm not sure if this was a case of if he was the only one that came to play or they thought they would win so they fed him more.
- This team is still beatable if JRob/Smith don't score. Luckily, this seems to be an aberation as both have been shooting well and it would have to be bad luck to have a game where they go a combined 1 for 11.
- It still boggles my mind that teams do the "we can beat this team with our eyes closed" thing. Sheldon Jeter had a comment about deciding it was time to play when they were down late in the 2nd half. I know this is a fine line because you don't want to panic early but this should be a good reminder from JD to the team when they are going to play a lower tier ACC team...not to mention they lost to a few last year.
