Don't know how many of you recall this but,in Sept 1999 -Sports illustrated picked the all CENTURY team. Fralic,Dorsett and Green made first team,Ditka made second team, and PSU had a second team receiver(Kwalick) and no other.

Actual issue is August 16,1999. I would post it,but I don't know how. Maybe someone with more expertise would look it up and post it.

Also Looks like Grandpa Munster made it as an assistant to Bear.

The Nits also had Altoona's DT Mike Reid on the team. That's legit. He was awesome.

Again, the quality of talent that has come through here is second to no one. I mean second to no one. You put an All Time Pitt team up, it is top 5.

However, the flipside to this is the mindblowing mediocrity that has mostly been the on field results.

He had a hell of a second career writing songs in Nashville. He was a nit before the nits became insufferably arrogant and self righteous.
They weren't insufferable and self righteous in 1969? Side note the only great thing Richard M. Nixon did as President was declaring the winner of the Texas - Arkansas game National Champions.

Not as bad as they became later. Reid was on those late 60s undefeated teams. It was those teams that fueled the better than thou attitude.

And in reality, he had zero to do with Texas winning the NC. They were ranked number 1, beat #2 on the road in a great comeback. Did the nitters really think they were going to jump them, especially when they didn't play that week?

That whole narrative was more Joepa bs
