"Monday evening's Rose Bowl will go down as one of the best in the game's storied history, with Darnold putting together an all-time performance and making a statement that he and USC will be formidable from the opening weekend of the 2017 season. Darnold, who took over in the Trojans fourth game, led USC to a 9-1 record as the starter and, including the Rose Bowl, had three games this season with five touchdown passes."

NOT A PSU MENTION.... BECAUSE THEY BLEW A 14 POINT LEAD IN 10 MINUTES!

It was Great and deserves Praise & Pleasure it gave to all Fans and CFB Viewers, but PITT beating CLEMSON was just as good and better!

USC lost to BAMA badly and PSU lost to Michigan badly. They both had a 9 Game Win Steak run, but Colorado, Ohio State and Washington, proved they were not competitive with Bama or Clemson too!

Great meaningless game in the end except by USC-PSU Fans! The Big One Game coming up is on January 9th!

I thought PSU played very well and certainly exceeded my expectations. They could have (should have?) won that game. What did grab my attention was the differing demeanor between the starting QB's. You had one fairly stoic going about his business and another one swinging a bat every time he threw a TD pass.

Pitt-girl, They blew a 14 point lead with 10 minutes to go. They gave up 17 points unanswered to lose. psu called the same play twice after the initial play was almost intercepted and the second one was. It led to the game losing FG. Please my dear, they should be eviscerated as a choker!

It was a great game to watch if you're a college football fan. PSU lost in heartbreaking fashion which made it even better.

agree, and for all the bad-mouthing Pitt's defense (rightfully) receives, why no criticism of PSU? USC had almost 600 yards and put up half a century on them. We ran through them and could have been more if Canada didn't get too conservative in 2nd half. Michigan's anemic offense put up over 40 points as well.

The reason it was an "instant classic" is because PSU choked in the 4th quarter. If they play solid football for the last 15 minutes it's just an entertaining bowl game.

Great game to watch. Zero defense to speak of. I don't have a problem with McSorley's enthusiasm, there's nothing malicious or insulting about the stuff he does, that's just the kind of player he is and it works well for him and PSU. In fact, his confidence and enthusiasm make up for his physical shortcomings--he;s small, not terribly quick, and has a very average arm, but he gets it done. Darnold has a different personality, he is a killer competitor. He has both the tangibles and intangibles to be a great one. Physically he is the whole package. Big, strong, fast and the best looking arm I''ve seen in CFB in a long while. Way ahead of his age in confidence and maturity. The sky's the limit for him.
