Scottie did us in in the NCAAT 2 years ago and while Mitchell scored 14 points on 5/5 shooting and badly outplayed Robinson (6 points 1/6) to end our season last year. Going into that game, we needed to win our last 3 to get a bid. We ended up losing our last 3 instead, starting with the Wake game.

Tuesday night seems like what could be a funeral for the Pitt season. 1-win Wake Forest comes in but talent-wise they are as good or better than us. Wilbekin is better than Robinson (though I'm sure the stat-lovers will disagree). That dynamic freshman guard is better than Smith/Jones. Miller-McIntyre and Artis are pretty even. Young and Devin Thomas are pretty even. Both teams struggle at the 5. Wake is plenty good enough to beat us. A loss and we're probably looking at 6-12. I expect a dead crowd, half empty Tuesday nighter and it could be the type of environment where this team just comes out and lays an egg, which with this group of players, we are very accustomed to seeing.

Its still all there for this Pitt team. Beat Wake, go 1-2 vs Syr, Lou, and Duke. Go 1-1 vs VT/GT and you're in. That's not asking a lot...............but a loss to Wake ends all NCAAT dreams and for this team, maybe that would be fitting.

I agree with all of this. It is still all right in front of them. As bad as today was, and it was awful, the Miami game is really the one that stung. I had no delusions we would beat UNC today, as we had the last two times we played them.

I also agree about Tuesday. To describe this team's mindset right now as fragile would be an understatement. Get off to a bad start, could get ugly.

Or, we respond like we did in the Va Tech game and then go into a Cuse game against a team we have always played well against.

1-1 next week doesn't change much.
2-0 makes us a very probable NCAA team. 0-2 and the death march continues and we probably don't win another game.

I'll keep saying...hoping I'm wrong...but don't see this team winning another game...there is nothing right with this team now...and it's very obvious
