Will he become the highest paid defensive player in the NFL? Apparently sitting out optional OTA's right now due to contract.

Von Miller 19.08
Sub 19.06
Muhammed Wilkerson 17.2
Fletcher Cox 17.1
Olivier Vernon 17.0

I say he gets about 18 in his new deal. Get paid my PH boy!!

No - H2P Cafe has been closed for months now. Bad location.

Thanks. Hopefully AD learned a valuable lesson here that he won't repeat when he makes the really big money. Restaurants are horrible investments for someone who isn't a restaurateur. And even for a proven restaurateur, they still aren't that great of an investment.

I think $51m guaranteed is the magic number, then the rest is fluff after that. Get the guaranteed money my friend!!!

There were some issues with underage kids getting served and some other things that eventually got them shut down. Location is opening up again I believe
Interesting. I hadn't heard that. My son lives right by there, he said it was often empty.

Can someone who's more knowledgable about the NFL contract system explain to me when he'll be free to leave the Rams as a free agent?

Because if he is, he might want to look at a team that's more likely to make a Super Bowl run. Sure, money's great - but getting the money and being on a contender would be a lot more fun for him.

He isn't scheduled to become a FA until 2019. Even then, unless there is a drastic change in his production and/or health, the Rams would certainly apply a franchise or transition tag and not let him leave.

He probably would have done better with a venue that had more capacity for food and lunchtime Oakland worker crowds. I went there for lunch a few times and the food was very good, but virtually no indoor seating for the daylight crowd. The menu definitely had potential to draw more, but the business lived and died by the college nighttime drinking crowd, with much shallower pockets that the working class day market.

First round draft choices sign 4 year deals with a 5th year option that the team can trigger before the 4th year starts. So Donald is likely tied to the Rams for 5 years.

In my opinion he signed a deal and should live with it. The Rams could give him a new deal before that 5th year kicks in. It would be in their interest if they want to keep him long term.

I have to agree. If he (or anyone else) likes the contract that they signed, then they should live with it. But once the contract expires, if I'm AD, I'd be looking to sign with a contender.

I think he will live by the contract...but if he lets them know he's not happy and they decide it's in their best interest to make happier than so be it. Good for him.

Interesting. You'd think that wouldn't be a bad location but I guess it's hard to get tons of exposure a block away from other businesses.
location? it was a bar on a campus with very few bars. cant imagine location had anything to do with it closing. if it had to do with crackdowns on underage drinking, well that is BS. we lost a great establishment with Zelda's for overzealous police authority with too much free time on their hands...

nothing wrong with looking the other way. I was at zeldas a few times, when I was in high school mind you. look at me, I turned out perfect

Who cares? I root for the Steelers, don't care about him, unless he joins the Steelers.

He doesn't play for Pitt, I only root for Pitt and the Steelers, I don't root for people on other teams.

ok but other people do, hence the post. we all don't have to have the same interests here.. I do this thing, I swear it's nuts but you should try it. on a post you don't care about, if you don't click on it, you don't have to read it. pretty sweet option that we have on the pantherlair..

I had never heard a word that AD had a bar/ restaurant. I happen to know Ditka has a couple here and that Marino is involved in an Italian chain...but never hear of those in the media either (Richert occasionally pimps Marinos place on our post game shows but that's it) .

Yet there is tons of mention regularly on tv, radio etc. that Hines ward has one, that Bettis has one, or when other Steelers (Woodson et al) had one. Heard on a segment the other day, city tourism person on the air, espousing Bettis and Ward bars as reasons to travel here! Loads of free publicity for them (the fact that many struggle anyway show what a challenge the biz is). But that's more power of winning sports (and lack thereof for losing teams) in Da Burg.

H2P was just a typical small student hangout, in a completely different class than those other restaurants you mentioned. It also was right next to a tattoo parlor. ;)

so you do not root for ex Pitt players to excel when they are not playing against the Steelers... Pretty weak. But, as usual, you just putted out for your 72 on your course.

btw..do not believe you on this (ignore past Pitt players and do not root for them) but you do crave the attention so carry on...

Best to assume everyone is a fraud of some degree on anonymous message boards.
