Not a good day for Pitt, they fell behind NCSU 7-0, battled back in the 8th and 9th, but lost 7-4. And Duke rallied to beat GT, and UNC at VT was rained out (DH tomorrow) so.............if the season ended today, Pitt would NOT be in the ACC Tourney. We are 1/2 game behind VT for the last "IN" spot.

6 teams are still battling to avoid the bottom 2 spots, which DO NOT make the tourney, Pitt is now one of those last 2!

Pitt has lost 11 of its last 13 ACC games!

.400 Duke 10-15 (Pitt has tie-breaker vs Duke)--vs 9-15 GT this weekend
.370 Notre Dame 10-17 (ND has tie-breaker vs Pitt)--at 8-19 BC last weekend of the year
.360 Ga Tech 9-16 (GT has tie-breaker vs Pitt)--at 9-15 Duke this weekend
.333 Va Tech 8-16 (Pitt has tie-breaker vs VT)--vs 19-5 UNC this weekend
---------------------------------------
.320 PITT 8-17 (has never made ACC tourney)--vs 11-13 NC State this weekend
.296 BC 8-19 (no Pitt-BC games this year)--vs 10-17 ND last weekend of the year

After the first weekend of April Pitt was one game ahead of NC State in the overall standings. Four conference series plus yesterday's game later (13 games total for each) and Pitt is now four games behind NC State in the overall standings.

NCS beats Pitt 8-6 in Game #2 of the series today ...... Pitt now 8-18 and has lost 12 out of the last 14 ACC games.
