ACC Coastal season preview

This analysis missed the most important unknown for this team..... the OL. If the OL plays well and we can run the ball, we have shown we can pass the ball and have avery good D, we should contend for the conference title. Maybe this is THAT year!

Not sure how Miami would stand to fair better than Pitt, then. Their line was a mess. Pitt's problems were at the tackles more than anything.

The article tells you why. Miami played way better than their record last year. Just horrible luck. So the analytic model predicts, based on what they return, that they would play at that level again. And then based on that, you’d predict the bad luck to even out.

Miami’s offense last year finished in the 70s I believe in the S&P+. Even with how horrible the line was. Pitt finished in the 110s.

It’s easy to see why one would be projected higher than the other by the S&P+.

I predict that Pitt goes undefeated this season, and still finishes in the middle of the pack and doesn't play in a good bowl game.

I don't think the prediction is accurate, but it does go to show how little respect the network has for Narduzzi.

Don't think it's reflection on Narduzzi at all. Just don't trust the O. Whipple and Co. gotta make believers. It's very possible even likely they will.

I'll add that Pitt, The U, VT and UNC are all capable of 10-2 type season. Coastal should be the best it's been in a little while. Should be a lot of fun.

It’s a computer. And it’s not even a computer formula “ESPN” invented.

Connelly and his S&P+ got so popular amongst college football fans, ESPN bought him away from SBNation last year.
