#1 Wake Forest
#4 Louisville
#5 UNC
#6 Duke
#7 Notre Dame
#10 Virginia
#12 Virginia Tech
#16 Syracuse
NC State earned an at-large berth (is hosting) and the only ACC team in that didn't get a first round bye.

The Big Ten got 4 teams in (2 seeded) as did the Pac-12 (1 seeded)

This is third time the ACC got 9 teams in (again tying its own NCAA record), and the sixth straight year it has received the most bids.

Of note, Syracuse got a #16 seed with a 7-6-4 overall record and only a 1-4-3 conference record. Only BC, Clemson, and Pitt, all with losing overall records, didn't make the tourney.

On the women's side the ACC got 10 teams of 14 teams in, which led all conferences, including two #1 seeds.

Seven of the ten women's teams won in the first round of the tournament, which was last weekend. BC was the biggest upset, they were 4 seed in their region and lost 4-1. On the other hand, Virginia Tech beat 4 seed Texas 1-0.

While Vidovich had improved Pitt immensely, the problem is the other ACC teams arent getting any worse. Pitt is probably one of the 20 best teams in college soccer but like half their schedule is against teams better than them

The one local WPIAL player for Hofstra scored two goals against BC and had double digit goals on the year. This same player was one that the previous staff said couldn’t play at Pitts level.

Just another example on why our women’s team needed completely rebuilt.
