What’s going on at the league office? We get this network to have better control over televised games and to guarantee more member team games are televised. You and I pay a sliver of our cable bill to gain access to the Network. The absence of the Network on major cable provider Comcast has pushed some Fans to other cable providers or streaming services. Many Pitt basketball games so far this season have been on regional sports networks at a time when no other games are on the Network, such as today. Is it the league office that’s selling the game rights in order to double dip on fees? Is it Pitt that has a say on this outsourcing of rights? Is it driven due to lack of fans in the arena? Why would a cable provider want to pay for the Network if the content is something other than live sports? Why would the consumer fan want to make changes to their cable provider in order to gain access to the Network if there is no guarantee your game will be televised.

Do you have the ESPN app? If there are no ACC regional network channels available, you can watch on the ESPN app.

There are five ACC games today. Two on ESPN, two on the ACC Network and our game that was syndicated to the RSNs. They syndicate games to the RSNs all the time, because first of all they make money on it, and secondly because there are times when there are multiple games going on at the same time.

Was blacked out. I tried. I had my father in laws Comcast acct and it was still in accessible. I when and got a free week to Fumu or some crap site

There was not another noon ACCN game

There is a syndicated game at noon every Saturday. There would have been another ACC Network game today had the Georgia Tech - NC State game not got cancelled, although I do not know what time the tip off was for that game. It may have been 2:00, to have an ACC game going on in every time slot from noon until 10:00 tonight, but I don't know that for sure.

On the 12th,Fubo TV started carrying ATT Regional,so now on that provider you can get both the ACC Network and the Pens and Pirates.
Of course the price went up 5 bucks a month.
I switched from Hulu live to Fubo a few weeks ago because of it,with Pens season coming up.
Works fine for us.

I am blacked out every time a game is on the RSN because the DC area RSN isn’t carried by Sling as a local channel and I live too far out in the exurbs to get any over the air TV stations. I do get to watch the game later as an ACCN replay, however.

In that case, my understanding was that you could log into the ESPN app using your provider - in your case Sling since Sling doesn’t carry the RSN - and access the game that way.

ACC network was certainly a cash boon to the University Athletic department.
For fans in the Pittsburgh area with Comcast and Armstrong, it has been a real PITA!

I thought the same thing, but that hasn’t been the case for me. YES network is the RSN in my area and YTTV doesn’t carry it.

Fortunately someone on here posted about the Mobdro app, which has worked great for me so far.

The game was carried on ATTNet (Root). That network is carried by Comcast so that is probably the reason it was blacked out if you used a Comcast address to access ESPN.

Like directv.

I've had DirecTV for a long time. The day that they would not have a channel that I really wanted would be the day that I would drop them like the proverbial hot potato.

The loyalty that some people feel to television providers, especially crappy ones like Comcast and Armstrong, astounds me.

Well, some fans are keeping spouses happy by not switching and losing the home shopping channels and soap opera channels their spouses really like. Others just want to keep things less complicated and don't want to have a TV provider who is not also simultaneously their ISP.

Do some people think that, say, DirecTV or Dish Network don't have about a thousand shopping channels and channels that show soap operas?

Some may--also in the Western PA terrain some may be afraid they won't get good satellite reception and are afraid to cut that hard-wired cable as a result. Just speculating, however.

Reddit has a sub group titled “streaming college basketball”, typically there are 4-5 choices for Pitt games......I Chromecast the game to my tv and all is fine in the world. These are games that have been blacked out by the traditional channels.

Had DirecTV for 5 years. Didn't consider them when we moved because any breeze over 15 mph knocked us off. Our new place is on the top of a big hill. Stuck with Comcast for now.

So that explains it, eh? I have YTTV, too, and a couple of the ACCNX games have been blacked out on the ESPN app. I thought maybe it was because of all these scheduling changes. I'm ticked about it because I switched back to YTTV specifically for Pitt BB.

Thank you for bringing attention to this humanitarian crisis. It's been frustrating trying to watch this team in the very few games they've played this year, TV packages are a damn mess.

I have Sling and it will show the game on ACCNX, but when I click on it nothing happens. It's not that it tells me it's blacked out, no, it just shows me a blank screen. Some games I can watch on the ESPN App with my Sling login--often the same game it won't show me in the Sling app. Mind boggling.

I gather some of these are on RSN or whatever regional AT&T sports affiliate, but I don't get that over the antenna. I gather those regional channels are on Comcast, which doesn't carry ACCN! Maddening.

It's a carnival hellscape of licensing bullshit. Hopefully the schools' media people and the conference are putting their heads together on a more consistent way to do this, because this arrangement sucks.

Speaking of the ACCN, did anyone watch that Pitt Football show on there tonight? Looked pretty interesting but forgot to record it. I’d assume they’ll be doing re-runs moving forward...

I watched it. It was very good. Look to stream it on demand or catch a replay broadcast.

Here is the trailer:

The ACC Network’s series is titled “ACC Traditions.” They have been creating episodes for each of the ACC member schools.
It's about damn time. I've been wondering when they would finally have a Pitt episode.

I have posted this a thousand times. YTTV doesn't have ATTSN so if its a Raycom game syndicated to the RSNs and you have YTTV, you have to watch it on your phone with the wifi turned off...if you need to watch it live. Otherwise its available on the ESPN app (through your wifi) when the game ends.
