This Preseason order of finish has us at #10. This after a season at
tied for 14th. This thread should be on the positive, not the here we
go, Pitt getting "screwed" again." No it doesn't fit the narrative that Pitt
always gets screwed.
GONE FISHING...good post! I realize you were
poking fun and were being sarcastic,
Last week I posted on here that I saw us at #11. Almost the same as
the above prediction. I didn't have us ahead of GT, but hey! ...I'll
take it. If we beat the teams listed below us, and pull a couple of
upsets, we'll finish even higher. That sounds like a tall order, but
beating Louisville and Fla St. last year was even more of a tall
order.

One of the other pre season predictions listed the coaches
that players (other than their own) they would like to play for.
Capel and the UVA coach were listed second after Coach K.
Seems as though Capel is pretty highly thought of (as he should be IMO).
Also we didn't have any all league players selected, that speaks well
as to what Capel is doing with what talent he has.
Our coach is getting us there, not overnight as some want to see,
but he is getting us there IMO.

This preseason poll reminds me of the fact that Danny Manning is somehow still the coach at Wake.

And Jim Christian at BC.

Jim Christian at BC reminds me of what coulda been if we kept Stallings. A guy who isnt really a bad coach, just mediocre but who cant recruit ACC talent.

I got curious and looked up a couple of their recent better guys.
Ky Bowman was a composite 3 star ranked 324. So was Jerome Robinson, ranked 308th.

So he even got “lucky” with how he got his best players.

Yea, his recruiting has been like Stallings's first full class.

Yeah, I also wonder about Christian at BC along with Manning at WF.
Another one is Hamilton at Fla St. He had overall losing records at
Okl. ST and Miami. He's above 50% at Fla St, but not by much....
62 % overall and 51% ACC. He recruits incredibly well, but doesn't show
great results given the talent he gets IMO. He has won a BE championship
and an ACC tourney championship....but still.
Bottom line...it may be the ACC but they're all not Bennett, Coach K,
or Roy Williams. With all that said....I'll take Capel over most of them.
