The good news for Pitt is even though they are in 13th place, they are only a 1/2 game out of an ACCT spot and only 2 games out of automatic bid into pool play.
This week, the Panthers absolutely have to sweep a 2 game set vs #295 UMES. After that, no less than 2 wins will be required at #68 Notre Dame. The RPI at 44 isn't bad and a sweep, though unrealistic, would get us back into the NCAA Tournament conversation. 1 or 0 wins against the Irish and its all but over barring a miracle.
If Pitt can somehow manage to win all 5 this week to be at 26-17, 11-12 and an RPI in the low to mid 30s, they would have a lot to play for in the last 2 weeks.
