Congrats to all the Pitt award winners!

Disappointed that Olivia didn't win PoY but not that surprised, they didn't want to give it to a freshman. I would bet big money she wins it at some point in her career.

More frustrated that Fish didn't win coach of the year. To have two freshmen on the first team All-ACC and get a 1 seed and not win coach of the year because FSU played a cakewalk schedule? That's ridiculous. Congrats to Coach Poole but Fisher did an incredible job this year and should be recognized by it. If Pitt makes the Final Four or National Championship he may still win National Coach of the Year.

Emma Monks deserved 1st team all-ACC, but they only included one MB? Its annoying how many OHs win awards over deserving players at other positions like MB or Setter. Emma Monks should've been a first teamer over Gracie Johnson or Mabrey Shaffmaster, or even Torrey honestly. Elle Glock the setter from Louisville should have been a first teamer as well.

All complaints aside, its insane that every Pitt started made first or second team. I've never seen that before. Congrats to all of them! Time to make our run to Tampa!

If I read the notes correctly, Babcock was a unanimous first team selection and Debeer was not, yet Debeer won POY. Seems like politics.

Honestly, unanimous Setter of the Year is incredible enough that I won't even complain about the others. What an achievement for Rachel!

And Rachel is unanimous setter of the year, but not unanimous 1st team selection?

A few thoughts....

  • Really pleased that VVG was named to 2nd team....well deserved
  • Fairbanks absolutely deserved SOTY
  • A little surprised that Klika got a 2nd team nod at L/DS
  • Also pleased Monks and Nwokolo were both named to 2nd team...I think Monks could have been named 1st team
  • Apparently the ACC has a rule that a freshman can't be named POTY....because Babcock had a better year than either Debeer or Koenig
  • FSU's Chris Poole COTY.....is this some kind of joke? Oh I get it....he beat Fisher and Pitt one on one based on a ref's call late in the game.....also never mind about FSU's soft schedule

In addition to what has already posted above, special shout out to Emmy Klika, one of only 2 Liberos selected to the All-ACC teams (the other being Elena Scott)!

Well deserved award that recognizes how far she has come in just her first year as a full-time starter.

Congrats to all the Pitt award winners!

I'm also pretty sure that this is only the 2nd time 2 freshman....Babcock and Stafford...were named to the ACC 1st team since Lund and Ndee did it 'back in the day'.

Ndee didn't make first team until her junior season in 2019.

Which I only bring up to highlight how rare what they just did is.
