So I'm watching some of Miami/Cinci game and thanking God the Golden bus didn't land at Pitt like it seemed so close to doing and it made me think for a second. So part of understands finding the lower level head coach with great potential could land us Meyer by theory. That has happened at some places like Florida in that case. But it just seems, maybe not, that so many of these Golden types do not work out when they go from small to big! So I'm kinda in the camp of going with the coordinator route. I'm thinking I would search for an executive for the program that has a vision of the culture and goals of the University. IE the maniac at Youngstown St would be a good fit at Stanford no matter what kind of head coach he is. Wasn't great at Nebraska but may be great at YSU. Where Tressel was able to produce at a higher level maybe Golden can't. Maybe Golden would produce at Pitt but not Miami! Based on his personalty and values, good or bad. How would you guys select a coach for Pitt if you had full authority? I would select someone exactly like the coach we have! A coordinator or coach from a large program with the skill set, personalty and organizational skills he has. If any interest what do you guys think?
