We still have one unannounced commitment from last week and three from this week. Who are they? It’s soon going to be time to look at addition by subtraction again. Specifically, which official visits are cancelled for the next official visit weekend. Of course, Pitt somewhat screwed this line of reasoning by not having any visits this weekend. By the time they start canceling some upcoming visits, it’s likely that more commits will go public.

But, let’s proceed as if Addition By Subtraction will be meaningful:

Right now, there are 3 DBs scheduled to visit. If Beasley is one of the silent commits, I would expect at least two of those visits to be cancelled unless they are projecting Beasley either as a WR or a LB. Six DBs would seem to be the max and I don’t think any of the 5 who have announced have the frames to develop into LBs. The caveat here is that one of our earlier DB commits apparently hasn’t yet scheduled an official visit. Is he still committed?

Now that Holmes has made his commitment public, they have 4 OL commits. Will they take anymore? If not, the OL visits might be cancelled. I’m sort of hoping they take 5 OL this year, so I hope they aren’t. Anyway, there are 4 OL scheduled to visit.

If Elias Rudolph or Dominic Kirks or the Mysterious Marcelin is the remaining unknown commit from last week, do they cancel the two uncommitted DL still scheduled. (Actually, one of them is committed to UCF but still scheduled this visit to Pitt.) For that matter, assuming that it is Marcelin, do they accept commits from Rudolph and/or Kirks, both of whom loved their visits and stated Pitt is their favorite. Ditto if one of the other two is the silent verbal.

I assume they won’t cancel Hasselback’s visit even if Jackson is the silent commit. However, my belief is that Jackson would have committed, but HCPN told him that Pitt might take two QBs in this class and he is mulling that over.

I don’t think they would cancel LB visits even if Williams and Lindsey both commit before that weekend because right now we have zero LB commits. However, the only LB presently scheduled to visit committed to UCF today. Ditto for WR visits, where we still need bodies.

And, for the sanity of Chris46, let’s hope they don’t cancel the TE visit if Clark is one of the silent verbals.
