I am really excited about the aggressive attitude that the new staff brings to recruiting. I was looking at the 2016 offer list and what really jumped out at me was the number of top level kids that the staff is after.
I know it's not all about stars or the evaluations of some website guy, but PN is going after some of the most highly recruited kids in the country. I counted 28 kids who were ranked in the top ten at their position per Rivals. Five of these kids were ranked #1 at their position. I am ecstatic.
In the past it seems that Pitt has been shackled with coaches who wouldn't even bother to offer a kid that every school wants. Previous coaching staffs seem to have mentally concieded that the kids who can go anywhere won't come to Pitt. This is pure BS, and I am glad that we have a coach who is willing to go after the best kids, not pray that they can locate a gem that nobody else has uncovered. High school kids have all sorts of reason for picking a school, but they sure as Hell won't come if we don't offer them a scholarship. Maybe the top DT in the nation would fall in love with O Fries. All we have to do is recruit him and give him a chance to fall in love with the best University in Pennsylvania and one of the best in the world.
I will now end my rant.
