Mike Locksley hired as new CO-OC of Alabama. Why would they not promote Napier? Possible that Napier accepted a job somewhere else and waiting until after LOI. Could be good news for Pitt.

Napier could still be a possibility whoever has been hired must be a great recruiter for him not to leave prior to signing date. Might be someone else from another SEC school.

Or maybe there is a contractual obligation tied to a bonus as an incentive to stay?

Theirs always a possibility but it will probably be Brad salam in the end I believe, but hire Napier as CO OC maybe?

being a RC is a positive, not a negative.

I agree. It is important to note that. It doesn't necessarily mean that he is the best recruiter on staff.

I knew an assistant coach that was also recruiting coordinator. He had a clause in his contract that required him to stay until LOI day or he would lose a bonus.

One possible new name could be Zach Azzanni from TN current passing coordinator previous OC experience and highly thought of as a recruiter. His name was mentioned to me yesterday as a possibility.

Only one year as an OC at Western Kentucky. Worked with Canada in 2012 at Wisconsin.
Does he get passed over by Butch Jones for the OC job there?

Still think Enos could be in play. All that was reported was that it "appears" that he will stay at Arkansas.

More than likely there is a contractual obligation that if our new OC were to leave before signing day, then there is a substantial buyout.

Story I was told he was ready to leave TN ready for a new challenge. He's considered TN best recruiter on staff and that was one of the conditions he couldn't leave until signing day. Unfortunately we're all speculating at this point.

As another poster explained in great detail, the recruiting coordinator job is mostly administrative.
No. No, it is not. The other poster pulled a description of a wholly different admistrative job and it has nothing to do with the actual on field coach's title.

Not even remotely similar.

its funny how all the other schools are not having this problem with a coach that is "not" allowed to leave before LOI.
Some schools throw a $100,000 around like it is $10. It makes more sense for us not to waste $ that we are not flush with. If Narduzzi is fine with waiting, then so should we.

Scott being promoted was to be expected if my information is correct that Azzanni was leaving and Canales can take over as passing coordinator. Some of the dots may be connecting

at wku wasn't he a spread type offense guy?

i do like this part.
In the past 10 years, Azzanni has been called a “relentless” recruiter by Urban Meyer. He has most notably been a staple in the recruiting areas of the state of Florida, in particular the Miami/Fort Lauderdale areas

Good point, I was about to rant about the LOI thing, but you are right.

Who really cares, I am sure they probably let some recruits know that are on the offense side who the OC will be.

I wouldn't be disappointed with this hire. Wasn't familiar with him, but after a little reading, can see why he could be a good choice, especially considering his recruiting prowess. He was dynamic in his mic'd up video. Like Napier too. I had said I preferred a college guy from a successful program.

This is the guy I thought was coming in ever since Browne signed without having an OC.

Why not Dave? HCPN has the program pointed up.

Because Narduzzi has flaws. Waiting 2 months to hire an OC is a massive one. Blindly trusting Narduzzi all the time is crazy. Some people on here act like he walks on water. This process should have been over by Christmas.

If you've been around the program for a while then appreciating HCPN is a no brainer. The thing you have no idea about is his decision making process. For all you know he's had his guy for a month. These recruits know exactly what is going on and who is coming in. Sorry but I trust HCPN timeline judgement over yours Dave.

Says you. I think most of us trust Duzz's judgement over yours. You're entitled to your opinion, but you can be flawed too. Let's see how this plays out, before anyone calls his judgement in this matter 'flawed'.

And who were the guys bitchhing last year before and after Canada was hired. I get opinions but some of these guys literally think they could do better than HCPN LOL. Was with two 6A head coaches last week in their school buildings. They love this guy!

I don't really give a crap if our OC is announced yet or not,I guarantee the kids we are recruiting probably already know or have a clue who it is
