Redshirt freshman OL Alex Bookser met the media today and had an interesting comment about the way the current coaching staff is fostering competition:
"I don't want to say I was in a good spot with the last staff, but it's unfair to say I wasn't. So it's kind of taking everybody and making everybody uncomfortable and giving everybody an equal playing field. I'm embracing that even though I might have been in a higher-up spot with the other guys. I'm able to take that and, 'Okay, this going to be a competition throughout the
whole year, so it's going to make me better and make me want to compete throughout spring ball and throughout camp to win this spot'...
"I think that's one thing that I might say that our last staff didn't do a great job at: encouraging competition every day. This one, everybody's going out, and nobody - maybe the superstars - knows they have a job this upcoming year."
